Sorry all, in a bit of a panic - not sure if these 2 have been looked at in a vs scenario. Which hotel has better standard rooms? Shorter distance to the Strip? Better pool for siting around with a few drinks? Check-in process for TR Gold? Back-story: Have a trip planned for May long. Brother trying to get time off work to come, boss hoed and hummed. We figured we we put out the next weekend as an option (today) and then his boss could make a decision. Brother goes to work today...boss gone until FRIDAY! We are booked in at the Flamingo around May long (Thur-Mon $260), so if his boss says he can go that weekend, we just need to grab the flights. But if his boss picks the following weekend...well we are hopped - Called Flamingo and $700 before resort fees, before flight cost...can't do that. So I called to Caesars Ent to get somethign else also booked so that we don't get hit by $80 resort fees if we book on Friday. I can get Harrah's or Bally's for $400 (Thur-Mon) weekend after May 23-27. If I have to choose between those 2...which one?
IMO, Ballys has the much better room. Harrahs is a closer walk to the Strip from your room, but Ballys has a much better Strip location. I don't believe there is any special checkin process for a gold TR member, but I always had quick checkins at Ballys
Agree - Bally's has bigger rooms and the drink service is great at the pool. Harrah's has easier access to the strip but Bally's also is connected to Paris with Belagio, PH, Cosmo just a short walk. Food options are great in that area with many choices. Probably could be pleased with either. Hope it all works out well for you and you have a wonderful trip!!
Rooms at Ballys are nicer and larger. One could argue that either one has a better location. Having stayed in both multiple times I would go for Ballys. Nicer pool, less congested, connected to Paris and further away from the construction.
I would agree with the rest - Ballys over Harrahs. Have stayed multiple times at both and never had an issue at Ballys while more than once there's been a problem w/ our room at Harrahs.
I have read though that the standard room at Harrahs is nicer than the standard room at Ballys. True?
The Harrah's room may be marginally nicer... but on the 1-10 scale of rooms, where 1 is like IP and 10 is like a SkyLoft, you're comparing a 2 and a 3... either room is "fine" - clean enough, etc. I think Bally's wins this one hands down being center strip instead of buried at one end.
No contest with the pool at all. While Ballys pool is not close to the same class as Mandaly Bay, Harrah's pool is just a small rectangle.
The pool at Bally's is slightly nicer/larger and has one of the last deep end pool on the strip. Also Harrahs is surrounded on three sides by the hotel tower and Ballys only has a tower on one. Here are the picture comparison: Harrrahs Ballys
Bally's get's a yes from me. And the great thing is Bally's is connected to Paris and Planet Hollywood is just a few seconds away. So it's almost like staying at 3 properties instead of 1.
Interesting.... all the yea votes for Ballys over Harrahs cuz I thought I seen the proposed resort fees had Ballys $15 vs Harrahs $18. Of course all that can change from a stroke of a pen.
I do feel the rooms are slightly better at Harrah's, but I stress slightly. I've never been in the North tower though. Neither are amazing, I just think Ballys is slightly more dated. Ballys wins hands down for me on just about everything else though. I like the casino more, the location and the pool. The location can be a toss up for some depending if you like a lot of the Wynn/V/P area of the strip vs Bellagio/Cosmo/ect..
One thing Harrah's may have going for it is the property is a little more compact. I stayed in the Carnival Tower 3 years ago, and it was only about 5 minutes from the elevators to the strip. Taking the monorail was a little easier too. With all the construction going on next door at the Quad, I would avoid Harrah's/ Flamingo right now unless I was in a room away from those spots.
