My story is like this. I have chairman card at station casinos. I put over 100,000 coin in last year and lost over 28,000.

So I was losing big time over an 5 day span at two of their casinos. The one host had no problem comping nights. Any food you want. I just did cafe and buffets. Host exact words were "YOU LOSING YOUR ASS OFF, YOU CAN GO TO ANY RESTAURANT YOU'D LIKE"
So she took care of me very well.

After that stay I decided to switch to a lower tier property and play. Well I lost more there and earned more points there. Well the host there never introduced himself. A phone call to him. Well you've been comped over 1000 at the other property. So there nothing we can do. He said 1000 comp is the equivalent of losing 20,000. Hello are you Nuts.

Here's my deal. If you lose 5,000 comp rooms food free play.
1000 lost get something good. This whole computer average stupid to me. If I'm winning I have no trouble paying. Losing take care of people.

Maybe I'm just old school. Only 38 so not that old school. Lol.
All I know is you treat a customer correct they will be back. Ohh how I wish I could open a casino.:)

I don't know how Station runs their casinos or what their policies are so I can't say specific to them. But in general you are correct. If you are losing, especially anything over $5,000+, the casino usually takes care of whatever you need/want within reason. But don't expect just cause you are down a few hundred bucks, or even $1000 you're gonna be given the keys to the castle.

I think it's a terrible response you got from that host at the lower tiered casino. I would obviously just take my business elsewhere or back to your original host. I would speak to your original host at the other property and see if there is something she can do to help and tell her how mad you are.

Agree. With current technology and with the use of players cards, they should be able to tell exactly how much you won or loss. If two gamblers had the same amount of bankroll and played the same amount on a machine, the winning gambler would have better comps.

Player one has no luck and loses his bankroll in two days. Player 2 hits some small jackpots and continues playing for five days, then loses the same amount. Player 2 will have more coin in circulating the winnings back and have better comped offers.

How about taking a breath and asking yourself, "If they are not going to comp me for losing 28,000 $ then I am going to stop at 25,000 $ losses and treat myself to 3,000 $ in comps rather than expect to gamble 3,000 $ and have "the miracle" happen".....just a thought.

How is that supposed to work? It only sounds good after the fact. By that reasoning why stop at $25,000 in losses why not $20K or $10K or $5K? Why gamble at all?? I can't make much sense of playersbd post but sounds like he lost his ass then got nickled and dimed in terms of comps -- it wasn't like he knew they were going to be cheap with him but then just decided to lose money anyway.

I could be wrong, but I think bubbakitty was being sarcastic. That is how I read it anyway. Gave me a good laugh.

What were you playing? 28k lost on 100k coin-in is pretty crappy luck! Sorry bro.

I can't make much sense from your post but if you're saying they weren't willing to comp you more than 1k worth that seriously blows.

Just a quick alternate way of thinking here.

If you didnt gamble at all and paid full price for those things it would cost you less money and less frustration.

Of course it would not be as fun bt i dont see losing that much being fun anyway.

i don't really know the situation of your trip, but this is definitely the worst feeling in the world. I had a similar situation where my host was out of town on a fishing trip with no cell access, so he told me to call another host at the end of my trip to get everything taken care of. I end up getting crushed on my trip with very little theo, but very big loss. so I call this host and he says, you're already overcomped with your suite and F&B upfront, I can't do anything else for you. he made my use express comps to pick up the rest of my F&B and wouldn't give me any airfare. i'm like WTF is wrong with you? pissed me off royally and when my host came back I told him i'm never talking to that other host again.

fast forward to a trip at the B and I get killed again. this time my host sees my loss and doesn't even look at my charges. just comps off everything except tips and says done. that's the way you should be treated when you lose. at least then you feel a little bit better that you didn't get nickeled and dimed.

I'm going to have to say this guys story is suspect. I stay at Station properties and I've never had any issues with comps or hosts from Red Rock all the way down to Palace Ststion. $28k in losses got only $100k in play and only had $1000 worth of room and food comped and they tell him that's it? I've had much less play then that and have never been turned down for anything.

If that really is the case then I'd take my play to either M Resort or A Boyd Property.

Well a couple of points here, the first being that the OP said that he ran 100k in coin in last year at Station properties. Now, I read that as him/her putting that in over several trips over the course of the year. Obviously how many trips/days that took will affect his/her comps/offers as it would affect his/her ADT. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say those of you analyzing this as a single trip are probably way off. The OP probably didn't come into town and drop 100k coin in on one trip.

That being said, I can see both sides to this equation. On the one hand, if you're hoping to get or expect to get more comps when you're losing, you must also be ready to pay for everything on your winning/break even trips. That's why the casino bases your comps on your theoretical loss, because sometimes you're going to come out ahead + get comped, and other times you're going to get crushed but only get comped a small portion of your losses, but in the long run, it should all more or less equal out.

However, as Shifter stated, sometimes you just get no run out of your money and the negative variance beats you into a pulp, and you blow through your bankroll so quick that your theo doesn't come anywhere near where it should for your actual loss and your comps are affected. That's where having a good relationship with your host can help you out. And it sure does suck to get your clock cleaned and then have to negotiate to get a 100 dollar meal picked up when you just dropped 10k.

At the end of the day however, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want casinos to loosen the purse strings on the trips where the variance kicks you in the balls, you had better be willing to pay out of pocket for things when you have a winning trip. Again that's the whole point of calculating the theo, because that's the fairest way to do it.

Let me be clear. This coin in of 100,000 is throughout the last year.

I would say my loss was 5000plus at both properties when this all took place.

I had a similar occurance happen at redrock in January. I had two night comped. I asked at the rewards center to see for a late checkout. They called a host who stated to the rep that I am being overcomped already. Come on people. Im losing 1000s again. The host said he could do a late checkout for 2pm. But they would charge my account 85 in comps.Ridiculous for a 2pm checkout

Station casinos says they love loals. Locals money!

Plus not one jackpot with all the years play.

About 10 years ago I lost 8,000 on a trip to Palace Station. The host only talked to me on the phone. You would think I would have learned my lesson.

Stick a fork in me I'm done. :)

Late check outs shouldn't be a problem when you've given someone that much play. Especially since it really doesn't cost a damn thing to the casino. Most casinos give that perk to their higher tiers automatically.

Without knowing all the details of what you've been comped, what your actual theo was, and all other pertinent information, you're either running into really bad variance so your losses are larger than your theo, or you're being treated poorly. Of course you could have unrealistic expectations too. Without knowing the details I can't speculate.

I disagree however with thinking your comps should be based on losses, unless you're willing to pay out of pocket for everything when you win.

    Stackinchips,

The whole late checkout was crazy. When I went to checkout at noon the host had me to
to checkout another day. I saw on tripadvisor a comment about late checkouts get charged full day. I assume they not casino guests. Redrock very particular. Checkout at 11am.

I probably only put 20,000 coin in. But had a few thousand loss this trip. Ohh I have. No trouble paying when I win. It just hasn't happened since 2002. Time to give it up

Exact situation happened to me at B except I was so pissed I never went back.
My host at Aria knows I'm there and I usually don't even have have to call him.

Obviously the OPs situation is different now in saying $100K in over a year instead of a trip which is how I read it. .

Man, if I could afford to gamble away that much money, a free room or other comps would be the last thing on my mind.

maybe consider the newfangled BeeeJay "self-comping" system.

I take 20% of my bankroll and shave it off away from gambling and call it "comps" to myself at the beginning of the trip---this money is to be used for room, limo, meals, etc.

Sure its just a semantics trick, but I feel like it doesn't reduce my play THAT much, I'll play the same games, just 20% slower.

I kind of like going into every trip knowing I'm fully comped, with no play requirements, and I never have to deal with or depend on a host for enjoying my trip.

But now if you had a total budget of 5000 you'd need to win 1000 just to "break-even". But hey if it works for you then keep it up! I would just feel ill knowing I shelled out 1000 to pay for a hotel I could have gotten comped if I gave them my play.
