    My Trip Report

    Ok, new to this board, although I have been reading here daily for a good while. Since I love a good TR (Flusher, Nate, BeeJay, Funk and not sure if he posts here but John in the UK) always get me pumped for my next Vegas trip.

    Background:

    I started going to Vegas last year, went 4 times last year, and this is my first trip this year. My girlfriend lives in Burbank, CA, so every other trip when I come and visit her we will hit up Vegas. So the trip is me, my brother Matt, girlfriend Savannah, and friends Will and Biggie. We are mid 20s (sadly I am not getting into the upper 20s) who pride ourselves on drinking with some gambling mixed in. Ive stayed at Luxor, Cosmo and Bally's (the latter which feels like home to me), but we would be venturing out and trying a place with a little less cred.

    The Cast:

    <img src="http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/577049_3726577398795_79071148_n.jpg" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=400 ALT="Kyle">

    Me - I am addicted to Vegas. I am a roulette junkie and I will mix in an occasional slot and blackjack session. I am known for blacking out when I drink, and doing some dumb ass things in the process.

    <img src="http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/487672_4366853405295_1802471406_n.jpg" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=400 ALT="Savannah">

    Savannah - The lone female on this trip. Also a big time roulette player, and will sit on a table for hours upon end. Likes to gamble on the floor more than any of us. Can hold her own in the drinking department, and no stranger to a good time.

    <img src="http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/542439_10101078407205161_251556392_n.jpg" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=400 ALT="Matt">

    Matt - A borderline alcoholic, this gentleman is notorious for binge drinking, waking up hours later, and going to work no worse for wear. Last years trip, he maybe averaged 20-30 beers a day and 3 hours of sleep a night.

    <img src="http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/426068_4366862845531_212173687_n.jpg" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=400 ALT="Will">

    Will - The best drinker out of the bunch. The most outgoing/obnoxious out of the group as well. This guy is all about having a good time, and while doing so gets himself into some pretty awesome situations.

    <img src="http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/301820_10100922225394761_1688167484_n.jpg" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=400 ALT="Biggie">

    Biggie - The non gambler out of the group. He is more liberal with his money (although he makes the most) and does his fair share of drinking. He has an affinity for 40's (FL does not allow them, we have the lowly 32 oz'ers). Often taking the brunt of the jokes, he is the guy who has to even out everyone at times.

    The Flight:

    We left on a Thursday at 4:45 flying into LAX. We get to TPA about an hour early (we were flying SW), and with some time to kill, head straight to the bar. We were in group B, so we figured that would buy us even more time. We order 3 beers each, with some shots mixed in. Funny thing was right after receiving our 3rd round, they were boarding B, so we had to get some chugs in. We were all drinking dark beer, so this was less than ideal, but we downed the beers and got on the plane. I was sitting next to Matt, Will and Biggie were in the aisle across from us. Flight takes off on time, and we start ordering more beers. Bust out the tablet and me and Matt are playing the Jeopardy drinking game. Basically if you get the question wrong, you drink. Well we do only one round of this, and then its time to keep a tradition going. Me and Matt will pick random seat numbers and send beers their way. There is usually no problem with this, but if the stewardess does not like you or is uptight, they might not be willing to play along. Luckily for us, this was not the case. I go with seat 8, Matt goes with seat 12. We pick the middle seats because lets face it, whoever gets stuck in middle seats on planes deserve a beer. The stewardess didnt charge us for these, so that was really nice of her. We land in Phoenix for a connecting flight, although we didnt need to get off as our plane as it was going to LA after the PHX people left and the LA people boarded. Well after 20 minutes the new pilots still werent there as their flight was delayed so we got off and pounded a few more beers. After getting back on the plane and after a short flight we touched down in LAX.

    Rental Car:

    Normally, I wouldnt write down what kind of car we rented, but this car was special. Savannah has a small 2 door convertible, so that was not an option for 5 people for the drive to Vegas tomorrow. We wanted to ride in style. We wanted to be seen. We wanted enough room to be comfortable. And we wanted to haul ass while doing it. A car where girls would throw their unmentionables at us while driving down the strip. We wanted this:

    <img src="http://cdn.iseecars.com/image2/w450/14281.jpg" WIDTH=400 HEIGHT=300 ALT="Pimp Wagon">

    Thats right friends, we wanted the Dodge Caravan. It allowed us to have a cooler right there in the car, and if some random mom needed someone to take their kid to soccer practice, we would have that covered as well.

    So we hop into the van, and off we are. Savannah having her birthday dinner tonight (her birthday was the Monday after SB Sunday, its now the Thursday before the SB), and since the flight was delayed, we have to go straight to the place. Long story short since this is a Vegas report, not a LAX report, we went to this place in Hollywood called Tokyo Delves. If you are ever in the area, and want a different place, def give this place a try. Its a sushi restaurant, but the wait staff dance around, do games, pretty much force you into drinking an epic amount of sake bombs, and its an all around good time. Made me think how a place like that in Vegas would just kill. After dinner we went to another bar, drank more, killed some karaoke, and piled in to Savs small one bedroom apartment where everyone found a place to crash and get ready for the big day tomorrow...Our first in Las Vegas

    Coming up next...More drinking, Wills first encounter with an elderly lady on the trip, and more

    The sports bar at the Tropicana in Atlantic City has a happy hour special, 40's for $5. Yuengling, Tecate, and Sol are quarts, though.

    After securing my record for longest time between posts on a TR (this is currently on page 5 now...ha!), I figured I would try to get this finished up. BeeJay and Nate are the best reads and they kind of inspire you to do one, or in this case finish one...Here we go.

    Wake up the next morning, go to some random family diner in LA, pound some breakfast, pound some beers, then head over to Target. We picked up some 5 hour energies, mixers, and was introduced to milk thistle. Apparently it helps out your liver, I was pretty scepticle but we all went HARD this trip and none of us were really hung over. It made a believer out of me.

    <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/223482_4366857205390_2142613533_n.jpg" width="350" height="350" alt="Computer Hope">

    Anyways next stop was BevMo (they dont have them here in FL but a pretty cool place for craft beers, etc), stocked up and we were on our way. The drive to Vegas is brutal, its not long but you dont pass anything and I feel as if it makes it feel longer than it really is.

    3.5 hours or so later we are getting close. We drive by a place that I have always wanted to go into, just for the name alone, Whiskey Petes in Primm, but am outvoted 4-1 on stopping there. One of these days, I will grace this place, one of these days. We drive up Las Vegas Blvd and everyone is getting really hyped. When you first see it, its hard to describe that rush/anticipation you get, but its awesome.

    For the first time ever we saw/stopped at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Its nothing special but its def something you have to see at least once.

    So the days run together, as I had a hard time remembering myself what we did the next day, much less write a TR with great detail, but I will try. We booked pretty late and the options were slim. We wanted to stay center strip and since most of us usually get around 3-5 hours sleep while were here, we bit the bullet and stayed at the Quad. We got two rooms with two queen beds in the 5th tower and had a decent view out onto LVB. Could see the Mirage and Caesars right in front and could see a little part of the fountains.

    <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/537825_4366868005660_1921158914_n.jpg" width="350" height="350" alt="Computer Hope">

    After we dealt with the clusterfuck that is their parking garage, we check in (pretty fast, within 5 minutes, read this is usually kind of an issue), and head in. The rooms are def nothing special, the carpet in the main hallways are terrible and tripping hazards, but to be honest, I dont care about that stuff. I stayed in the Cosmo last trip, staying here most of this trip, still not in the room enough to care.

    We go down and hit the bars pretty hard. We went to Bills (last weekend it was open), to pay our final respects and we lost track of time and pretty soon it was already pretty late. Everyone was pretty drunk, so we headed over to the Victorian Room. Will is just on another level drunk, talking to himself, laughing at anything, but not being overly loud. Well an older lady (70s or 80s), comes over and starts off with "Im old enough to be your grandma" line, so we knew where this was going. She says he is being too loud and is ruining their time, etc etc. We managed to shut him up the rest of the time even though he wasnt that loud to warrant that. Anyways we did our first gambling of the trip, everyone threw down 20 on a number in roulette, nothing hit, played for a little bit, Sav was the only one who was up, then left. Ended up in Harrahs, I am more concerned about drinking, but managed to play some roulette. Now, I was by myself, played chips on 16-24, hit like 18 I believe, then just threw down 10 on 6 the next roll, surprisingly that hit, so with two rolls I had two hits, cashed out and left. This would be the only wins of the trip for me sadly. I didnt play VP like usual, didnt finally try craps out, and barely played any BJ. At this time, I hate roulette on the Brian with Nate having just been there and his stories, so thats what I mostly played.

    Anyways the next day (Sat) we were up early, tried to eat at serendipity 3 at Caesars for breakfast but the place was slammed. Dont remember what we ended up doing. Today we all went to casinos we had never really been to before. Matt and Will were going hard betting on college basketball games and EPL games, and not doing too well at that. We hit the Palms, Pallazo, and, wait for it...Circus Circus. I had read stories of kids on the floors and awesome stuff like that...To my dismay I didnt see any of that, but it was a pretty weird place. I somehow drunkenly walked upstairs to this circus midway place, and that was def weird. Left there pretty fast and went out to fremont st that night. I actually love downtown, for some reason we played mostly in Binions but next trip I will be hitting up MSS, the D, and some other places to get some solid play there. Eventually I think DT will be the place for me.

    Fast forwarding to Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday that is, we had really no plans. I had a suite reserved at the Mirage, they dropped me down to a tower deluxe and gave me $200 F&B credit, so I was ok with that. Go to check in, was there at like 1pm and they checked me in just fine. The Mirage is one of those places I love, just for the fact when I was growing up the Mirage was THE place, and then with Vegas Vacation and some other factors, I just love this place. However, I did just read a TR here (sorry, I forgot who posted it) saying there is no low level food options. I 100% agree and wish they would change this.

    So we walk over to Caesars, play a little there, walk back, when someone is outside advertising a Superbowl party with all you can drink for $30. We had no plans, had $200 free FB credit to use, and she really messed up telling us about this. The place was I want to say King Ink? Anyways we went there and proceeded to drink this place out of business. Before kick off I was about 8 deep. The offer lasted until the start of the second half. so we went 2-3 drinks at a time. Things quickly got out of hand. 3 older ladies (around their 50s, and one of them probably 80s) sat down at the bar and were talking to Matt, Will and Biggie. All of the sudden these girls get some drinks in them and they are on the prowl. The 80 yo kisses Will, and I literally thought I was so drunk I was hallucinating. THEN, the same 80 year old girl and what turns out to be her DAUGHTER do a trianglur kiss with Biggie. This was hard to watch, and after the game started, Sav hit on her first ever sports bet (Boldin scoring the first TD) and apparently she left to cash out and go gamble (She is a bigger degen than all of us). We all bet HARD on SF so we just continued to drink our sorrows away. I then pass out on this couch/bench combo. I didnt wake up until midway to the 4th quarter once the game was out of hand.

    I am hammered drunk, and so is everyone else. My gf is nowhere to be found. We leave king ink and Matt and Will think its a great idea to high 5 everyone walking by in the Mirage. This is right after SB and its packed. If you didnt high 5 Will, he just would walk backwards in front of you until you did. Well he did this to some chick who was having a terrible night and she just slapps the living daylights out of him. It was actually hilarious but I was like MAM, what did you do that for (while walking backwards to avoid getting slapped too), she just strutted off and that was that. We found Sav, and hit the buffet. We were pounding food until the drinks started getting to me and I just switched to water. I had blacked out in the bar and was in and out here. Long story short after the buffet we lose Savannah again. Biggie and Matt go to be at like 10 pm for the second time during the trip (unheard of for these two). Will Sav and I have all stayed out late every night, so me and Will went out to search for Sav.

    We cross the street over to Harrahs once we find out Sav ended up at the Flamingo. This is were the highlight of the trip happened. We run into this two Australians who are just totally hammered. We somehow start talking to them, they take out a 12 pack, give us some beers, and we start talking to them. One is talking about this cut on his head he got by getting punched by a Wallaby. I didnt care if it was true or not but it was f'n hilarious. The younger of the two Australians were hitting on every girl who walked by, calling them "Sheilas". Thats the first time I ever heard of that phrase, so I started telling him what to say when they walked by. He was saying outrageous things and eventually started hitting on guys that walked by too. I didnt want the guy to get killed so I was like lets keep this to single girls. I turn around for one second and then he steals some guys hat that says SWAG on it. He was asking them if he had swag and how he could get swag. It was pretty funny. Eventually we left them, found Sav who was getting crushed on the tables, and called it a night.

    We got home the next Monday, and literally slept for the entire day. Flight out was Tuesday, but there was one awesome thing that happened. Before I blacked out at the Bar during the SB, I remember seeing this commercial of this random kid making out with a Super Bowl model. Well Matt runs into him at the airport and scores a sweet pic with him to end a great trip:

    Anyway thanks for reading, sorry it took me so long to finish, and sorry I didnt remember more or include more details. It was just one of those kinds of trips. I will be back for the 4th of July, will be staying at Aria and the Mirage, and am really excited about it. This will be a little more sober, gambling trip, and as of now it will just be me and my gf. Going to work on playing A LOT more VP, fit in a few spins of roulette, and hopefully this will be the time I finally shoot some dice!

    Thanks for reading
