Usually a whiskey family guy, but some mornings in Vegas I enjoy a tequila sunrise or two. Downtown or local places, what is some better tequila I could get, anyone know?

On my last trip the Flamingo poker room had some draft beers. Leinenkugel's Sunset wheat, Summer Shandy, and Blue Moon I remember. In 2011 that bar was advertising 8 different drafts for a dollar each, so it is worth checking it out. Blue moon was there but I don't drink that in Vegas because no one who comps it ever has the orange slice.

I think this topic comes up every time we see cut backs or dips in the economy, but again I am hearing rumors of complimentary drink service soon stopping at strip casinos, specifically Caesars properties.

I have seen this alluded to in various other posts on this site, talked about on other message boards, and hearing more and more frequent stories of cocktail service being slow or nonexistent.

I won’t get into the poor drink service since that is a onetime experience that does not give us usable data, but has anyone talked to any casino insiders to understand if taking comped drinks is really on the table or have any actual fact based articles talking about this? :drunk:

That to me would be a MAJOR turnoff to playing at the casinos in LV. Must be the idea of some corporate ( idiot) bean counter. If one house in LV did that , someone should advertise that they would serve doubles ( if allowed) or offer coupons when getting drinks for free ones afterwards while playing at the slots and tables. Think they would clean house.

From where? Based on your end question, it sounds like you haven't actually heard this from any reliable source. (This is me desiring you to be wrong more than calling BS.)

Drinks make you gamble longer and make dumber decisions. Why they would ever consider getting rid of an accelerant to them making more money is beyond me, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Its not April Fools day....just yet. I just do not see this happening. I know "free" is getting few and far between in Vegas for the average gambler these days, but this in my eyes won't be a cutback they would consider.

I posed this question a couple of months ago and there were a lot of good responses. See the thread linked below. If it happens on the strip it will be at Caesars first probably -- at least for lower limit players. In a lot of their casinos across the country they've already started charging to upgrade drinks and making drink orders computerized tied to your players card. Most importantly -- the CEO of CET has stated in interviews he wants to stop handing out free drinks across the board.

For those asking why they would do it? Simple -- after factoring in drinks a low limit player can easily be costing them money.

Can you buy these in the poker room even if you are not playing poker? Can you just walk in and order?

Not to be smug, but I'm comped at the Mirage and Bellagio anything I want while playing HL BJ or baccarat or after playing at the HL bar.

We drink Captain Morgan and Diet Pepsi (or Pepsi One) at home and it is what we drink in Las Vegas. I think it is more of an auto-response than anything else that the words 'Captain & Diet, please' just roll off of our tongues.

I keep saying that on our next trip I am going to order Peach Bellinis (at Bellagio), Chocolate Martinis and Raspberry Lemon Martinis (at Cosmo), and Bailey's and coffee in the mornings...I never do. I don't drink these fancy cocktails at home because I am too lazy to stock up a bar and then mix drinks when pouring Captain and soda is so efficient. Maybe in July I'll remember to order some fun drinks.

Which casinos serve Torpedo? Anyone know? I found it at Venetian around this time last year, but when I went back in the summer they didn't have it.

I'm one of these people. They probably have an ADT of near zero on me after factoring in drink costs.

Used to be this↑. Now after reading this thread it will be Crown on the rocks OR Makers Mark on the rocks OR Coors Light.

I didn't think I liked bourbon (Bad teenage experience!) I bought a bottle of Maker Mark and really enjoy it.

I do love seeing speculation, but I don't expect it to come to fruition, CET has been charging for upswell on their drinks in Vegas for a couple yrs now

Mandalay has Torpedo on the floor, actually more than just it in IPAs and expanding with the cicerrone running things now. Just wishing they would put Lagunitas on the floor

Thanks! And yeah, offering Lagunitas would also be very nice. Spending myVegas points on the Mandalay Bay Suite keeps getting more and more likely...
