Have you ever sworn off of some thing or some experience in vegas but then back tracked?

What caused you to do it? Was the return experience a sour reminder or a pleasant surprise?

I said I was done taking new people and done playing tour-guide! I lied, I am leaving Thursday morning with 3 first timers. Hello, Bellagio Fountains, Hoover Dam, TI Pirate show, Mirage Volcano, Pawn Stars shop, Welcome to Vegas said, etc, etc. HAHA

I am actually really looking forward to it, I am taking great people and I am sure even though we will be "touristy" it will be a great trip.

First thing that comes to mind is over eating and buffets. Set the fork down and think why did I do this to myself. Only in Los Vegas. Next would be playing slots on the strip. Tables have been ok but the machines are always tight.

In the past I have sworn off certain hotels and sportsbooks because of what I perceieved to be shoddy treatment and service. But usually after a length of time I wander back in to them

My husband and I have never been a fan of, or done a "couples trip". I didn't like the idea and my husband really didn't like the idea. I figured we would live out our lives without having been on a couples trip. Especially not a couple's trip to Vegas. Vegas is sacred.

At Xmas my brother called to wish us a Merry Xmas. That's nice of him. He asks me if we're still going to Vegas in September. I said yes. He asked me for my dates. I told him. Then he says that he'll see us there because he's taking his wife to see whoever is playing at Caesars that week.

It gets better. This year I was supposed to go to Vegas with a friend of mine as a girl's trip. After this past trip, my husband is now a Vegas Monster. He's one of us now. I've been on girl's trips before, Vegas included and he's always happy to have me out of his hair. Anyway, long story short, he won't let me go on the girl's trip. He wants to come with me. So my husband says why not have my friend and her boyfriend come down and we'll have a couple's trip.

We'll see if any of this actually happens. But, potentially I'll have 2 Vegas virgins, my husband, my brother and his wife who doesn't like me. I told my husband if everybody is going, that I want to add days to the trip so that we have some Vegas time to ourselves.

We don't vacation with anyone ever.....learned our lesson on that about 25 years ago. You have my total sympathies on this and I think you deserve a trip all to yourself to make up for what could be a rough time!

I always give the very vague.....we're not sure when we're going so nobody can tag along. :ssst:

Seeing Criss Angel BELIEVE a second time after they gutted the dancers, singers, acrobats and live musicians. It was even worse after the revamp and I walked out halfway through...

He mostly talks about his childhood, tries to be funny, begs for applause, does a few pedestrian illusions, brings a teenage boy onstage to embarrass him with sexual innuendo, and promotes his magic kits in the gift shop. That's the sum of it.

Oh man, the couples trip thing...NEVER AGAIN. And yet it keeps happening...and it's usually one good person (a gambler...a drinker...) and one lame person (a "what else is there to do besides gamble and drink here?") in the couple. ...and the good person becomes lame because they feel obligated to pander to the lame person...we usually ditch them.

I always say that I'm gonna gonna stop casino/hotel hopping when I'm in Vegas. I always have this vision of me being able to spend a day gambling in one casino....Never ever happens lol. I'm just a strip walker at heart. I can bounce from MGM to Harrahs to Cosmopolitan to Riviera all in a night. I'm always hopping from place to place.

I promise I'll be able to stay put March 6-11....nah probably not lol:wink2:

We almost always go to Vegas with at least one other couple or with a group (often family members) and have learned to only schedule one or two things per day to do together, such as a nice dinner. As long as you're clear when making the plans that you won't be chaperoning them from morning to night, everyone seems to be OK with it (they keep asking to go back, at least). But that reminds me of a personal "never again" vow that I always end up breaking: blowing through most of my comp credits by treating others to shows or free meals. People always offer to pay, but it's tough to feel right about asking for money later when you've signed for a check thinking it would probably get comped but then isn't. Thankfully, the couple we go to Vegas with most often have taken to treating us to a meal at a property where they know I'm not getting comps, such as Wynn or V/P.
