Just wondered if anyone has tried this out much, I know any method needs a large test size, but wondered what someone thought of it. Ive been messing with it on my iPhone for awhile and it seems to work in a way, but regardless it is still gambling and it will have its ups and downs.

I see IU in your username, you might have better luck if you adhered to a more scientific university (GO BOILERS!).

In all seriousness, roulette is just random chance, period. The only system that "works" is the martingale and only does so with an unlimited bankroll and in the end only wins you one bet. That being said it can be a hell of a ride but no 'system' will ever work on that table.

im not saying so much about the system, but just wondered if anyone uses it as a basis of how they bet. I know, no system works, its gambling, blah blah, but I think to play the game you need to have some idea of what you are doing instead of just walking up on the table and throwing chips down!

BTW, PUke can keep that scientific nonsense, its never been proven anyway! ;)

Uneven distribution can be a gold mine or a quick way to go bust.

If you can figure out if it's completely random or if indeed the dealer is the cause then you can attack it based on that.

In not so technical terms, in the case of roulette, it says that on 38 spins the chances of every number coming up once normally will not happen. You will normally get the same numbers to come up more than once in those 38 spins. So the theory is that you watch the game or look at the last 20 spins on the screen and find at least two numbers that have come up more than once. WHen this happens you put money on those numbers and if/when one hits again, you take your winnings from that hit and disperse it to those numbers. You should only get up to 6 numbers which then covers 1/6 of the board. Ive not really tried it much live but I have played around with it on sims and it seems to work sometimes. Just one of the million theories on how to play the game, none being better than the other really!

But the result of each spin is mutually exclusive of the previous spins.

But if thats the case why do they have the boards showing previous results and hand out the cards where you can track the results.....?????:wink2:

To get people who don't understand the concept of independent spins to lay down more money. People that think they have an advantage or a smart system will lay a lot more money down than someone who knows it's -EV.

i think the board is up there with the last 20 spins so people are not constantly asking the dealer if its been hitting alot of red/black, odd/even, 0/00. Plus the human mind is built to look for a pattern, even though there is no way there can be one if each spin is independent. Can you imagine the amount of questions a dealer would hear if they didnt have that board, it would grow tiresome for everyone around the table really fast!

Ive been battling a way to describe this to Martingale devotees I know, and another way to look at all this is the following two outcomes are just as likely:

    Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red-Red

    Black-Red-Red-Black-Red-Black-Black-Red-Black-Red-Red-Black-Black-Black-Black-Black-Red-Red-Black-Black-Black-Black-Red-Black

This is exactly how I have played roulette for the past 20 years or so.

It works because no wheel is perfect and some numbers seem to come up more often than others. Due to variances in the wheels design, flaws in the wheel, imbalanced wheels, etc etc. You can track these numbers over time.

Now here's the clincher..............you have to be sure of which of the 2 balls the dealer uses! One is slightly larger than the other to help defeat this trackable variation!

Roulette will always be a game of luck IMHO.

Of course it's more likely for 38 spins of a roulette wheel to contain some duplicates rather than each number will come up just once. 1-36 0 00 actually showing up as a combination is only one (if order doesn't matter, 1444 I believe if order matters) result out of the ridiculously huge number of possible combinations a roulette wheel can return. There are a clear mathematical majority of results where one or more numbers are duplicated over 38 spins.

This doesn't give any indication of which numbers will be duplicate, nor can the board help predict such.

3 ways to beat roulette. Croupier is in on it and through many years of practice can target a particular quadrant (They're not supposed to look at the wheel when spinning to combat this). Chip swapping when the croupier isn't looking (Croupier is never supposed to take their eyes off the bets after the "no more bets" call). And wheel bias.

Some of these systems are downright dangerous to put into practice, even more so when the player is deluded into believing they have a mathematical advantage.

There are a few Casinos that do not use a last 20 numbers board on their roulette. South Point is one that does not have the boards. You have to use the "Wing it International" system there. :peace:

Tried this 3 times on my app and doubled my $ each time. Who knows if it works in real life but the app should be a simple rng with no bias I assume. I did straight bet 2-6 repeating numbers of the last 20@$5 With two outside 12 bets that paid at least equal to my straight bets so 2/3rds of the time I broke even when the straight bets did not hit. Also I split the 0's for protection.

Actually... most people know exactly how it will work in real-life. Any combination of bets has exactly 5.26% edge to the house.

Roulette is a pretty simple game to model in any programming language, you can try out any strategy and see that you are never more likely to double your money than lose all your money.

    Driven2ThEdge has spoken :)

    Math:
    Every bet is independant.
    EV is negative.
    Do not play.

    Life:
Roulette is a game of pure random luck. The more you play it the more you should loose. You better start drinking while playing and have fun because that's the point.
