    hi guys,
ill be staying at the Stratosphere in 2 weeks and am just a bit curious on people think of the place. Its a hit and miss when ive looked at reviews on various sites. One review says great food, clean hotel, good casino, nice staff. And then the very next review will say horrible room, bad casino, and so on. I know it all depends on peoples expectations. But is this place fairly decent?

I stayed for 4 nights in november and enjoyed my stay. Easy in and out of the parking garage and up to your room. Quiet, rooms are upgraded in tower we were in, and I liked the layout of the casino. The $20 trick does NOT work, don't even waste your time. I tried and have read others reviews who have tried and they were shot down as well.

Its been about 6 years since I stayed there for a couple nights. The room was kinda small, and depending on the room you get, the views are downright bad in some places because of the tower. As for the casino, I relaly enjoy playing there, but I never seem to win much of anything. I like the open concept as it seems to go on forever.

Roxys Diner is pretty good for a late night burger and shake, they used to have a Pretzel on a Stick up in the 2nd floor food court that I loved.

The worst part of the place is there is nothing around it anymore with Sahara now being closed, so you have no options short of a long walk to Riv/CC and then short walk to Wynn. You do have the option of going right across the street behind the Sahara though and catching the monorail, I have done this many times and is the saving grace for The STRAT imho.

Its a fun place, nothing special other than the great views at the top of the tower and nice casino. I doubt I would stay there again, but I always enjoy going back to play there!

That is pretty much my experience. I've stayed there more than a half dozen times. The rooms were always decent. The casino staff was pleasant. The place just had a "there should be more people in here" feeling.

I consider the location of Stratosphere to be very practical. It's pretty much half way between The Strip and Downtown (Fremont Street). So, it's an easy trip by bus or cab to either.

    Don't worry

Stayed here many times. It's fine. Easy to get to the main part of the strip and down town. The place is clean and safe and you will like it.

Just kick back and get ready for your trip and enjoy.

Fellini's is awesome and moderately priced. Sunset at the top is pretty great too. You can watch the city come alive at that time.

Yes... it's "decent" and you'll have fun. It's not a dump like the Quad or Circus Circus, but it's not the Wynn either. Some of the girls from our office stay at the Strat all the time and they have a blast!

That what I've noticed. Its always seemed dead there, its way to far away from anything, and every time I've been there all I kept thinkin was I'm in Vegas why am I hanging out at the Strat.

I used to stay at the Strat every year but of course that was back when the Sahara was still there - but the monorail stop is great. Not sure how I would like it now with that gone. But the rooms were always nice and clean and I too like the open feel in the casino. I LOVE the pool there but I am pretty sure that when you are going the pool will not be open yet?? Maybe the hot tub. The only reason we stopped staying there was lack of comps - if CET is going to give me free rooms I'm not going to pay for them at the Strat.

I did a little gambling there in Nov and was offered a free night. So maybe they have gotten a little better? But, to be really honest- probably the nicest "very cheap" hotel in Vegas, not downtown. Maybe that is why they are tight with comps- it doesn't cost much to stay there to begin with.

We stayed at the Strat last year. Let's just say I would stay there again. The place is decent, rooms are clean, but kind of small. Don't get the strip view, there is no view. Get a mountain view, it's actually pretty nice. The casino is ok, but we never win there. The surprise is when you go to the top. The Air Bar is our favorite. It's ghetto as hell, but everyone is friendly there. There is also a lounge up on one of the top floors which is very relaxing and they play live jazz music. They have awesome valet parking and are quick! We also like the little strip mall in there, has some decent bargains on different items.

    The bad:

Don't go walking in the streets around Strat. Especially in back of the property. Your pretty much going to get robbed, killed, or both. The cops call the back of the Strat "Naked City". We actually drove back there to check it out, it was bad and it was only 1:00pm. I couldn't imagine even driving back there after sundown. Good luck and have fun!
