I've been to Vegas many times on business and pleasure but have always stayed on the strip. Last time I was there I stopped into the Palms and played VP because of the great advice on this board. Did OK, but am still working so I didn't break the bank!

During that trip I got a players card and then got a great comped offer which I will be using this week on the 7th, 8th and 9th of February. I'll be solo during that time and then meeting up with some girlfriends for another few days.

I'm OK with being by myself, I actually like that time of being totally selfish with my time. I'd like to request a room at the Palms that is not too far from the casino or from the elevator. I don't want to walk down a huge long hallway or a far away tower.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide. WooHoo...looking forward to some totally ME time!

I was just at the Palms last week on a comp offer in the newly renovated Palms tower, now referred to as the Ivory tower. Very convenient to the casino, obviously, being the original tower. The new room has a fantastically comfortable bed, nice shower (no tub anymore), 46" TV, see-through mini-bar and an overall sleek look.

The only downer for me was that the curtains let in quite a bit of light, despite nearly reaching the ceiling. That's a personal preference, though, as I prefer my room as dark as possible when sleeping. Also heard some club bass noise Tuesday night. And, even as new as they are, there were already a couple stains on the curtains and ottoman.

VP and slots were still good IMO and the Bistro Buffet was offering very cheap meals with the players card + cash. They just debuted a new center bar and finished installing new casino carpet. There's still some construction converting a restaurant or two, but the place is looking good overall. And, they fully comped the resort fees without having to ask.

Just don't get stuck at Palms Place, that's exactly what you DON"T want. It's a very long walk to get over there. The Fantasy and Ivory towers are both very convenient, right off the casino floor.

Thank you both for the info! Will be there is less than 48 hours, can't wait to play my first gam of VP at the bar with a nice cold glass of chardonnay!

    Palms is small

Any tower is close. But, the Palms Place is the condo tower and is probably a 2 minute walk unless you walk like me then it is about a one minute walk.

I almost always stay in the original tower, Ivory. During the summer I recommend staying in the Ivory Tower as the air conditioning works better. I like icebergs in my room. If you don't mind 74 to 78 degrees then the Fantasy Tower is okay. I need 68 or less for a good sleep.

The Ivory Tower has four elevators all located next to each other. The elevators are located right next to N9NE Steakhouse. The elevator bank dumps you right onto the casino floor.

The fantasy tower is about a 15 second walk to the casino from the elevators. Those elevators are located right next to the bathrooms and the restaurant known as 24/7 Cafe. I used to recommend 24/7 for breakfast and get the Eggs Benedict, but it is not as good as it used to be. They do sell cookies and muffins, those are still good if you get them fresh.

Palms place is about a 2 minute walk, but it is the nicest of the three.

Sorry, but there is no way you can walk from the Palms casino to Palms Place in 1-2 minutes. I'm a fast walker and I'd say it's 5 minutes. Kind of a pain if you want to head back to the room. I can get from the casino floor to my room in 2 minutes if staying at the other towers.

The rooms are kind of cool but I prefer to be closer to the casino floor. Depends on what you are looking for.

    From the Palms site:

What is the time distance from the Palms to Palms Place?

Palms Place is approximately a five minute walk from the casino floor at the Palms. For the convenience of our guests, the Skytube, equipped with two moving walkways traveling in each direction, is an enclosed passageway that connects Palms Place to the Palms.

    The traveling walkways

Sure, they are there. But are they both on?

To Palms Place. I assume I am starting from the Sportsbook, this means I am close to the doors that take me to Palms Place.

    1. Take the stairs to second floor. Two steps at a time. I never wait for the elevator. If you wait for the elevator, you are wasting time.

    2. get to the first walkway and hope it is working. Hardly anyone is ever there so if it is working you can boogie on it.

Enjoy the pictures of the pearl and the recording studio on the wall.

I can't remember if there are one or two walkways. in both directions. Not high on my list of stuff to remember.

If I am taking a liesurely stroll(or I am drunk vagabond) from Palms Place to the Palms I suppose it could take me five minutes.

I recommend Rojo Lounge as no one is ever there and Simon's Restaurant. The key lime pie I had there was fantastic. It was a special and was not on the menu.
