I play mainly table games 25-100 dollars a bet. (more often on the low end). I also will be adding in some slots I usually stay at MGM Grand or Mirage and LOVE them both, but have been less than enchanted with my latest set of offers (only discounts, and not very good ones at that). Should I look at CET or wynncore. I was thinking about doing all my action at wynn and hoping they give me a nice offer to lure me in, as I heard they have been known to do so (well I read this here). Thoughts?
Even a staunch MGM hater like Beeejay would advise against switching from MGM to CET if you're a $25-100 table games player. CET likes machine players, not table players. Heading to Wynn is a better bet if you feel you need to switch allegiance.
I don't know what Wynn will do for you with $25/hand betting. If you are more consistently more at the $100/hand, they will do more for you. Ultimately, you probably want to try them both. CET doesn't lavish attention on table players but they won't ignore bets that size either. They do more for slot players because it's easier to more accurately track slot play.
Playing at that level, you will get 5 nights free at some CET properties. However, the blackjack rules are poor at all CET properties unless you are playing in their high limit rooms.
I barely touch the slots (literally...like maybe $20 put in total for a whole week) and I play around $25 a hand BJ and get 5 free nights almost anytime at CET. As well, its easy to find favorable rules at $25/hand at any CET casino (except for stand on soft 17 but thats hard to find at MGM properties too)
I agree that CET probably will not do much for you (and certainly not with their properties on par with where you stay at MGM). I would go for Wynn. or maybe even look downstream a bit where green chip action might get a little more attention (TI?)
Which CET casinos give you 5 free nights almost anytime for $25 play? For instance CET is well known for being easy on the room comps but they still have their limits. It seems like almost anyone who shows any play at all can get free rooms at the bottom rung CET places like the Quad and most can get them at the lower tier CET properties like Flamingo, Ballys, Harrahs as well. But the OP normally stays at places like the Mirage and MGM so the only CET property comparable would be Caesars where you're not going to get room comps with that play. Places like Paris and PH are probably the next rung down after Caesars but there's still a pretty big difference.
Everywhere is taking away comps from that level. prob no good answer except lower tier downtown. If you like Mirage maybe ask around about TI..they may be an option for.that level...personally I'd make.the decision on playing rules and.stay at MGM, mirage maybe hit up.wynn with your higher play though
At lower level play, I'd much prefer having the flexibility of multiple properties (in case my luck is in the toilet at any one of them). So pretty much only MGM and CET would be in consideration. If you mix slots with tablet games, go for CET. I'm a *very* occasional visitor to CET properties, and even then i get comp/discount offers all the time. At $50 a hand of blackjack, the best you could hope for is discounted "casino rate" at something like NYNY or Monte Carlo.
At the low end of your range, I don't think you're going to see a lot. If you get toward $60-$80 a hand average, you'll do well with MGM properties like the Monte Carlo and NYNY. Free rooms for sure, plus even some extras, or possibly low end suites up toward $80 average bet, or if you play more than 4 hours a day. Beejay is right though -- the comps that used to be very plentiful at that level are harder to come by than they were a year ago.
My history of play with CET was as follows: average of an hour (never more than 2) of $25 blackjack flat betting. Some poker (anywhere from 2-4 hours a day. And with that, on one trip I got 4 free nights at Planet Hollywood (which I probably underplayed). Then awhile later, I had 5 free nights, 3 at Bally's at 2 at Caesars And I have an upcoming 2 nights over a february weekend at Paris. Now, people have been reporting CET tightening up recently (I no played them last trip and had the next one booked, so I can't tell). And you are right that he can't be ASSURED of comps in the best hotels, or on busy weekends. But unless he's a full out room 'snob', I'd guess there's a good chance he'd prefer a free room for 5 nights at Bally's to a discounted room for 3 nights at MGM. What I would suggest though is that he dip his toe in. Stay elsewhere (anything that isn't mLife or CET), and get the TR card and do one day of play from CET and see what you get out of it. That way you don't tank your mlife offers (they don't know you were in town), and you get a picture of what CET will offer before staying there. One thing to keep in mind. CET does not comp much on the back end. The sweet spots is the free rooms in their calendar. So paying for a room and thinking they'll comp it retroactively for some green chip blackjack is unrealistic.
