anyone know how to get into the surveillance careers in Las Vegas? I have background in Law Enforcement. And one year surveillance for a casino (non tables). I am about to move to Vegas and applying daily to casinos. I am curious to know how to get into the game. Thanks

Like most other positions, I imagine it is handled through the Human Resources Department at the hotel or corporate group. I believe that they would be your starting point like most any position or could at least answer your questions and supply you with a contact.

Absolutely. Every casino has their own internal surveillance operations, so everything will be funneled through their websites and HR. Just head to the websites and apply.

You could also call each casino and ask for the name/number of the director of surveillance, and send a personal resume. That cant possibly hurt. Every casino job I have ever had as a table games dealer started with me pounding on the door of the Table Games Manager first.

    Good luck.

Also, are you set up with LinkedIn? Just did a search for Casino Surveillance and got all kinds of interesting results, one group looks like a job posting spot. One is a closed group for directors and asst directors, although you can't join, you might be able to strike up conversation with owner of group. Good luck!

The casinos post openings, including those for security & surveillance, on their websites. Apply online and follow up. It is that straightforward. Majority require applicants to go through proper channels so without that first step, it's hard to move forward.
