Lookig at rooms in Mandalay Bay or The Hotel. Anyone want to give me a comparison on the V Suite vs The Great Suite. They seem about the same size and seem to be very similar on what is in them.

The V Suite is nicer, it has a coffee maker, newer/modern decor, and it has its own elevator / desk / concierge / etc. If the cost difference is negligible, this is the obvious choice, in my experience.

Cost seems to be pretty much exactly the same within $100 at the most.

I've stayed in both and prefer the V Suite at TheHotel - mainly because it's an actual suite, with a door that shuts between the bedroom & living room. For me & my husband, this is an important feature as we're not always on the same schedule and it's nice for one person to be able to sleep while the other person reads or surfs the net, etc. The extra half bath is also a nice feature, though for a couple, not truly necessary.

The 750suite (guess they call it the Great Suite now....) is very nice, and I'd rate its bathroom higher than the V - HUGE lovely soaking tubs, also larger windows, and we had an amazing view - 21st floor, facing airport & north Strip. Feels lighter (partially the colors of the room, partially the large windows and open floor plan.

TheHotel is dark & "cozy" feeling - despite the modern design - might not be everyone's preference.

Re: the coffeemaker at TheHotel - yes, we had a keurig machine, but the k-cups are part of the mini bar so you pay for those! But bring your own if you want (we bought some) because the machine itself is free....

Thank you for the info. I stayed in the Vsuite about 2 years ago. I thought it was great, but it was a corner and had a awkward bedroom area with angle walls of windows. They didn't have a Keurig then either. I do like that now though, I use mine everyday!

    The hotel v mandaley bay

Which is better? Is the pool facilities still available if you stay at the hotel as opposed to mandalay bay itself? Is either a good place?

The Hotel is superior (all suites) and you have access to all Mandalay Bay facilities.

There is a walk from The Hotel (2-5 minutes depending on your room and walking speed) to the Casino proper which some think is worth noting.

Sometimes the elevators in Mandalay Bay are busy and you have a wait or longer ride up.

I've stayed in both and in all honesty would stay in either with a nod to The Hotel if given the choice.

I perfer THEhotel. Haven't stayed in those specific rooms, but it's nice to be slightly away from things at THEhotel. Also yea, THEhotel rooms are 2 separate rooms with 2 bathrooms, it's just nice. Also I think *slightly* newer than Mandalay's Rooms.

THEhotel doesn't have it's own pool so I would assume you still have beach access.

Definite THEHotel but don't spend the extra for the V Suite, THESuite is the better room like Shaggy mentioned especially when it comes to storing your clothes and such. The V suites have a little better view in most cases is the only advantage we have found.

I've stayed in both...I prefer the TheHotel but would not hesitate to stay in MB room. I love having the additional 1/2 bath at TheHotel!!

We have stayed at both and we like both. But we prefer The Hotel over Mandalay as far as rooms go. The Hotel is pretty top notch for it's age and the walk to the Mandalay is only footsteps!

I love the beds at The Hotel and everyone is right it's just a quick stops away from Mandalay.
