    My Trip Report

    TR- Las Vegas Superbowl weekend.

7 guys been doing SB weekend in LV for the past 12-15 years. This one was as good as the rest.
    Thursday:
Arrive at 11am. Checked into South Tower comp room at Ballys. No problem with early check in. Lines very short. Check in clerk asked if I wanted $10 upgrade to North Tower, No thank you. All rooms clean and view much better in South Tower. Very spacious rooms. I heard they are the biggest standard rooms on the strip.
Off to Silverton Casino for 10X odds crap. Standard first thing to do on SB trips. Same great results. Up $3000, trip paid for.
Joe’s Stone Crab for lunch special before 4pm deadline. Just made it from Silverton.
$25 = 5 Stone Crab legs or Steak, potatoes, coleslaw and Key Lime pie for dessert. I love Stone Crab with Joe’s special mustard/mayo sauce.
Bally’s Poker Tournament, 7pm. Only 20 players. Paid top two. Placed 6th.L I like the new area that they put the poker room. Right near the S. Tower elevators.
Cruised the strip visiting TI, Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian. Like the Venetian poker room.

    Friday:
Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi, Paris. On the patio, of course. They have the best coffee in the world. No wait, plenty of seats. Is this SB weekend?
11:50am tee time at Las Vegas National Golf Course. For $69 this was an outstanding golf course. It is a golf course with a lot of history. It is a 3 minute drive from our hotel. Weather was a perfect 64 degrees. I think comparing rates and closeness to strip, it is a good course.
Dinner at Paris Buffet. A little expensive($40), but the food was delicious. They even brought hot crab legs to our table. Prime rib was a perfect medium/rare.
Jameson Irish Whiskey and cigars while watching the Bellagio water show.

    Saturday:
Off to the Silverton 10X craps table for one more try. Dipped my hand in the cookie jar one too many times. Dropped $500. Still looking good cash wise. If you are a slot player, Silverton has the best modern slots I’ve seen. Very nice off strip casino.
Off to Cosmopolitan for lunch and horse racing. Had lunch at Milos. Their $20 lunch special is the best deal on the strip. Appetizer, entree and dessert. Had the Mediterranean Bass, excellent.
Horseracing at Cosmo was terrible. No place to sit and drinks were $6-$10. Never paid for drinks in a sports book. Very small sports book. I only went there because of Milos. If you bet $120 they would give you a drink ticket. Secret: When you make you $12 bet give the cashier $1 tip. She always thanked me with a drink ticket.
Dinner at IlFornaio’s in NYNY. One of our guys knows the CEO of all IlFornaio’s in the USA. Meal comped. 6 bottles of Napa Valley Silver Oak Cab., Lobster, steak, calamari, pizza, assorted desserts. Chef came out to talk about menu. For one night we imagined we were all rich. Ate too much and drank too much. Excellent food and service. I guess the service had to be good. But it’s LV baby!! Sat in their outdoor area and watched all the beautiful women go by with great respect. Talked the night away about all our past trips and funny stories.
Designated driver took us to Downtown. Gambled a little and saw the Fremont light show. They also had a live band. Crashed.

    Sunday:
    Super Bowl baby!!!! Go Niners.
Breakfast at Paris café. Good food, rude waiter, small tip.
Made a lot of SB prop bets, but the large bets where on the OVER 48. Played ½ No Limit cash game at Ballys poker room until SB.
Had VIP SB party(Big Game) tickets to the Paris party. LARGE ballroom with many TV screens. The food was outstanding. Wings, ribs, shrimp, crab legs, etc. Table drink service. Saw LT (Lawrence Taylor, NY Giants) at party and said hello. Very fan friendly.
Even though my team lost, I thought it was a good game. Great comeback(almost) by 49ers.
Wandered around the strip and called it an early night. 7am flight Monday morning.
    I love Las Vegas
    :peace:

I felt like it was 30 years ago for me - contentment after a day of golf, women watching, good eats, downing quality booze, smoking a stoogie, all while taking in the fountain show.
    That's living baby.

The part about the coffee is a joke right?

I mean, unless you like your coffee weak as hell and as dark as tap water. At least that's the coffee I got at Mon Ami Gabi. On Friday as well...

Sorry my friend. This coffee was extremely strong and very hot. I asked the brand name. I believe he said "infinity coffee". They sold in for $28/lb. or you could get it on line.
I drink mine black. Maybe you put too much cream & suger in it.:poke:
