You can check your refund status here:

    https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp

This site is updated once per day. I have been checking it each morning out of curiosity with all the delay news, etc. Upon checking it today it read as follows:

    Refund Status Results

    Return Received Refund Approved

Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank on February 6, 2013.
If your refund is not credited to your account by February 11, 2013, check with your bank to see if it has been received.

I started checking on mine yesterday, it is showing "received" status. The IRS needs to know that I need it deposited in my back acct. because I have it "scheduled" to arrive in Las Vegas w me on Feb. 21!!

It'll be April 14th for me. Even though I made quarterly estimates to both the Fed & State, I'm still going to owe another $1,800.:cuss::bang:

I hear that! We made a good deal more in `12 than in `11 so I'm hoping I don't get killed. I'll know in a few weeks. Gone are the days of making $16/hour and looking forward to a $1,500 refund at the end of the year.

Still waiting on one last 1099-DIV before I can file. Honestly can't wait, especially since it's going to fund my late spring Bellagio/Aria/Mandalay (haven't quite decided yet) trip.

First year in my life that I don't get a return, and I get to pay in $800 on top of that.

Haven't filed yet always scares me. Last year I got $8,500 back, would love for that again. Did an estimate on H&R and it only said $2,100 but I don't really trust the estimates or H&R for the fact, so will have our accountant do it once I get back from Vegas. Hopefully he gives me good news like last year and will be able to schedule a summer Vegas trip!

no shit, those little buggers are really paying off right now! would be even better except for the phaseouts.

we get the personal exemptions and a child care credit on federal and then for state their is an education credit and 529 plan credit. seems like during one of those bad years in the recession we also got a child tax credit of $1,000 per kid but that must phase out at some point. damn those W-2G's :grrr:

Still a $1k a year tax credit per child. There were additional credits one or two years back when. (When people were sent early refund checks of $900 a person) If I didn't have kids I would be owing even more than I already paid. Thanks to the kids I get some of what I put in, back.

I like when they say 'Mailed out Feb 7, contact us if it doesn't reach you by March 7'.

I had my taxes done last night. Nice refund on the way! I realize that ideally you should break even on your taxes every year. However, I purposefully have extra taxes deducted from my paychecks to ensure that I'm never in a postion where I have to write a check to the IRS a check again. A portion of the return is always set aside to fund my annual June Vegas trip!

Btw, I usually have a CPA do my taxes. This year I went with H&R Block. It was a much more personal, and I learned some things. But WHY do parents bring their screaming kids to H&R Block? There is NOTHING there for them! Arrggg!

those aren't their kids, those are some "deductions" and "EIC qualifiers" they picked up on the streets on the way into the Block to make it look good...

good thing I'm not in Vegas, that refund could have made a short stay on its way to the casinos' coffers....
