Wynn Golf Course rates

I have been given the dubious honor of organizing my brothers bachelor party and am thinking of going to Vegas. I want to do a golf day and heard that the course at Wynn is the best in town. Just wondering how much it will cost for 8 of us to play a full round? Can we drink alcohol on the course? Does it cost extra to hire carts and caddies?

Any help would be appreciated.

No, that's total for 8. $500 per person. I was researching this the other day. Nate and Shifter and a couple of the other guys have played there. All of them say there are better deals unless you're getting comped.

Might not be a bad idea to shop around for packages to other golf courses. This past august my buddy booked a package at MGM that included 2 days of golfing with limo rides to and from the courses. Those courses were supossed to be better than Wynn and a fraction of the cost. The only drawback is they were a 30 minute ride... where the wynn's course is on the strip

oh thats a relief....$500 per person is a little more within our price range.

That MGM discount on the golf looks great, but I don't think we will be staying at the hotel so we won't be eligible. Plus if it is a half hours drive away, that makes it hard too....we really want to get on at Wynn.

Wynn isn't the best in town, but if you can afford the freight, they have service wired, it's immaculately kept and it is oh so Strip handy. And it is easier to get in than Shadow, as you've figured out.

Me? I'd get a big ass limo, load it with booze and have 'em take me to Paiute or Coyote Springs. You'll be money ahead, play a better course, and have none of the urban intrusions that still somewhat mar the WGC experience.

If you want it that close, Wynn is your Huckleberry (and glad to hear you aren't thinking Bali Hokum).

 

You seem to know what you're talking about. Not to hijack, but what do you think about the course that replicates the links holes from europe?

 

What about Bali Hai where you can get the ParMates for caddies?

 

I've never been to Scotland, so I can't give you a one-to-one, but I enjoy Royal Links for the simple fact that it is different. Kinda hard to think it is the Road Hole or Postage Stamp when the immediate environs are a wastewater treatment facility and a MRF, but it is different for Vegas so that is fun. It's a second-tier play if had at a discount.

ken2v and I share a lot of the same ideas for our golf favorites in the Vegas area. I, too, love Coyote Springs (my favorite) and Paiute courses.

Having golfed almost every course in the area, a lot of it depends on what you are looking for - is it service, challenge, speed of play, condition, etc?. Just like favorite casinos, generally people enjoy golf courses they play well on (or casino - the one they win in), so sometimes it is subjective.

Another two factors I find important, is skill level and pace of play. Tee times can be busy during certain times. Also, value for play - some people love to play 'pretty' courses, without much regard for things such as layout and variety.

With all these factors, I find that a quick round on an interesting layout, with friendly course personal is important for me (a 2 handicap).

With that in mind, I can narrow down potential interests for golf courses, with all factors weighed in.

Bali Hai doesn't get a lot of love from me; OK, I've long ripped it. I'm less critical now as the economic swoon has forced them to try to approach overpriced rather than ridiculously usurious, however. No course gets points from me simply because they let me rent boobs for four hours.

It's not exhaustive, but hits a number of courses across the spectrum.

 

For the right price, I'd go back - I've been a bit snake-bitten with course condition problems, so a bit hesitant (that was a few years back).

I do like the unique factor - having not played in Scotland, however, a Bandon Dunes fan in Oregon!

Look for a discounted time, and go for it!

 

Isn't is sacrilegious to combine golf with any distractions such as hot caddies?

Boy, it's gotta be hard to be somewhat 'nice' about a course you're not too fond of. Although I do like how there is some leeway as to how you can add important points about your favorites - like the Paiute comments. A bit different than posting on a public forum, or a widely - read magazine article (that you get paid for - yeah!!).

BTW - I got back from playing Coyote Springs at the end of December. Continued great service - they just got brand new carts, and had a good talk with an old friend there (who transferred from Primm a few years ago), who mentioned how the golf course is doing well (however, the housing development is another story). Locals can golf for about $40 there in December.

 

Played Wynn & Coyote Springs (both while staying at Wynn) and the Coyote Springs experience was far superior and well worth the drive!
