Getting caught up on email after returning from Tampa and I got one from American Express that my credit limit has been exceeded. "If I wish to continue using this card, I need to make a payment." The amount charged was $34,763!! I'll try and make a long story short... I call AMEX and they show 3 charges. The $80 for the car, the $250 hold for the car and the $34,763. The only place I used the card in Florida was the Payless rental car. I'm not worried about it, but still found it interesting. Called Payless and they don't show a record of that charge, even though it is billed to them.:confused2:
I think I know what happened: You get to the rental counter. They go over the bill with you. You make a joke, "Hey, I'm not BUYING the car". And you just chuckle away because you cracked yourself up. The rental agent smiles. But, on the inside....the rage becomes too much for them. You sign all the papers and go on your way and they put through the MSRP of the car on your credit card. This serves as a warning to us all. Stop using that joke.
Yes I know the joke...but the car was pre-paid for $80 for the 4 days. Also, the mid-size turned into a Dodge Caravan. Look, I'm not worried about it, just posted for a little humor.
No problem, I read it in a hurry and took it to be serious. In the light of day and sober it was a cute comment.
