    Hi,

I'm heading to Vegas in April with a couple of the boys. We are all early 30s and will spend most of our time gambling and drinking. Last time in Vegas we stayed at Bally's and didn't make it to Planet Hollywood until right at the end of the trip and we loved the vibe of the casino. Anyone have any tips or suggestions for us? Gambling wise we are big on craps but we are low rollers so won't play anything more than $10 limits, will we find this anywhere near Planet Hollywood at night? We will also play quite a bit of black jack and maybe some pai gow. We will probably also catch quite a few NHL / NBA games at night, seems like Blondies might be the place to watch those? How about the Planet Hollywood sports book? We know about Earl of Sandwich, but any other restaurants not to miss?

    Thanks!

Can't help with your questions but if you're driving, I would valet unless you don't mind walking through half the Miracle Mile shops. I like the casino vibe there too. Have fun!

Just a heads up.... Blondie's can get pricey if you are paying fully price for drinks. I would keep an eye out for drink specials or a special promo for the games if you plan on going there often.
We went there at night this past summer with no games(maybe a late baseball game) on and we racked up a pretty hefty tab. Also, be ready for the barely 21 year old overly drunken *****s playing beer pong. The 3rd time one of them tried to grab one of our pitchers of beer someone almost lost an arm.

For the gambling at PH, beware of the 6/5 blackjack, especially around the party pit. During the day, I have played craps there for $5 minimum, will increase at night. Can usually find one for $10 min though. Planet Dailies has good food for decent prices. Also, Earl of Sandwich is awesome as well. Don't forget to go across the bridge to Cosmopolitan, you may like that vibe as well.

One thing I don't think that enough people take advantage of is the ABC stores in the miracle mile shops. There a short distance from the casino are are really like a small general store. If your drinkers, you can save your self a ton by buying it there and taking it back to the room. Throw some ice in a sink and keep it cold. It's kind of our guys ritual that we all meet up together about 1:00 or 2:00 when we are ready to start drinking and drink in the room for about 45 minutes or so that way were feeling pretty good and what the cocktail waitresses bring us are just keeping us feeling good not getting us there. Same goes for breakfast foods and snacks...I don't eat a lot for breakfast so it's pointless for me to go to the buffet and spend 20 bucks or even go to Starbucks and spend 10 when normally a honey bun or granola bar that cost a buck will get me by just fine.

Like someone else said...I don't really care for the black jack environment....never really had any luck at the 6/5 tables and me personally i don't think the dealers have that great of a personality. If i am losing my money I at least want to be enjoying myself when I do it and there dealers just don't do it for me. I do like the craps and roulette there however and you'll see some lower tables in the mornings but the table minimums will go up in the afternoon....sometimes you'll see a 10 minimum other times seems like 15 or 25 are the minimums, depending on what night it is i guess.

The spice buffet is definitely worth doing for lunch or diner. Good food lots of variety. Depending on when you go you can avoid a long wait. I have also heard good things at the Earl of Sandwich as you mentioned, but don't forget if you want something quick and cheap there is a McDonald's right around the PBR corner by the Walgreen. I have had a really good breakfast a few times at a place inside the Miracle Mall, believe the name is Ocean One Bar and Grill. Good food not too overly priced but when I needed more than just a snack.

I would check out Peepshow if you're going to be there anyway. After you've played for a few hours check with a pit boss to see who you would talk to about seeing about getting some comped tickets and see if they can hook you up. Just hang around the slots around the elevators after midnight if more than a Peepshow is what the doctor orders lol....cause that's where the working girls are always on the prowl....so if you feel like your getting eyed like a steak going to the elevator real late...you probably are. Most are not pushy though and will move on if you say your not interested.

The key is though, and like you I totally feel in love with the environment, but if you let it the environment can drain you quickly. Be sure to get out and hit up the other properties as well. The fresh air is good for ya. Hope this helps

We just stayed at PHo in Dec and really enjoyed it.

*I agree with the recommendation for the ABC shops. Great place to stock up on beer, booze, bottled water, snacks etc at more reasonable prices.

*Not sure if you will be up early enough to worry about breakfast, but in the Miracle Mile shops, Cheeseburger Las Vegas had a $5.99 breakfast special (2 eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage and toast) that was really good. They also had a deal on Bloody Marys.

    *Earl of Sandwich was great.

*The bartenders at the Heart Bar were great, friendly and quick service.

*The new Gordon Ramsey burger place was just days from opening when we were there, so we did not get to try it.

*Check the website for PBR Rock Bar, on certain days they had all you can drink specials for around $20.

    Earl of Sandwich of course!

Valet park if you are driving. Actually, you are screwed pretty much no matter what if you drive. But the valet is a little more convenient.

I wouldn't get a strip view room. The Cosmo throws loud parties till all hours and you can hear them in your rooms. (especially in spring and summer). We actually moved the 2nd night of our trip.

Breakfast at Sugar Factory next door at Paris is great, and never a stupid wait like the cafe's have.

PH is the hotel I always stay at with the boys. The wife has graduated to the Wynn even though PH is free.
Big fan of the Heart Bar. Gets really busy later at night with a good vibe and not a lot of the b.s. that goes along with the clubs.
Another vote for the Earl. Great place for a quick meal, plus they have Mt. dew. For us non coffee drinkers, a much needed caffeine fix.
Tradition is we hit up PF Changs for a quick late night meal when we get in.
Late on weekends you'll be hard pressed to find Pai Gow for less than 25.
To get your craps fix, maybe Monte Carlo? Good luck!
