For my March/April trip, I’ll be staying at Bellagio while my sister and brother-in-law will be next door at Caesars Palace. So, I assume that we’ll probably split time between the two properties. And while I’m fairly familiar with most of Bellagio’s offerings, it has been a while since I’ve spent a great deal of time at CP. I was hoping that the VMB community could help me with some restaurant ideas.

I don’t have a budget in mind. And I’ll eat about any type of cuisine. I’m just looking for some ideas…whether it’s fine dining or a quick bite at a food court…or anything in between.

So…what places have YOU really enjoyed at Caesars Palace?

    Thanks :peace:

For quick and healthy, inside the food court in the Forum casino, there is a fresh salad place. You fill out a little ticket from the list of ingredients and they mix it and toss it to order. I remember all the veggies being very fresh and crisp.

That was going to be one of my suggestions. I didnt eat there because I didn't know it was a "custom" salad place til after I got a slice of pizza. I'll definitely have lunch there atleast once on my next visit.

I would suggest Old Homestead Steakhouse. I've eaten there twice and it was great both times. The onion soup is excellent. They cut the onions up really small just the way I like it. Also, their bread/rolls they bring out are really good. If you really like pepper try the sirloin steak au poivre.

I've had lunch at Mesa Grill but not dinner. My wife and I both enjoyed it. She had a burger and I had the chicken skewers. We had some type of cheese fondue for an appetizer.

I'll be staying at CP in two weeks and will update this if I try anything else.

Had a GREAT dinner at Mesa Grill last time we were in Vegas (November 2012). Highly recommend this place for foodies.

I'm a fan of Rao's in NY but the one inside CP didn't do anything for me. The food seemed much more bland. I've tried it twice, no dice.

The new Bacchanal Buffet is supposed to be outstanding, but I've yet to experience it (hope to in a few weeks though, will report back).

Let us know what you do and what you think of it.

PJ Clarke's steakhouse in the forum shop has $1 oyster happy hour 3-6 i beleive. They were actually pretty good. They also have a dinner for 2 special for $99 (soup or salad, T-bone or ribeye and lobster tail, desert and a bottle of wine).

If you want just a quick fix....in the foodcourt there is a chinese restaurant that had terrific sesame chicken and I also love the lobster chowder in a bread bowl at the fish place. These are a must do each trip for us. Hope you have a great trip!

another vote for Bacchanal Buffet. went for dinner in mid-November and it was outstanding. we never spend more than an hour at any buffet and we were here for 2! didn;t even realize we were there that long as we were mesmerized by their offerings. plan to spend some time and enjoy some great food! good luck!

Guy Savoy is excellent -- one of the top restaurants in town, and my personal number 2 or 3. It has prices to match!

On the other end, Payard Patisserie is great for breakfast. Choose pastries and such at the carry out, or sit in the restaurant for simple but very well prepared dishes. Lunch and dinner are also available.

Mesa Grill is one of my must do's for dinner. The pork tenderloin is fantastic.

Again, many thanks, guys. I love the fact that I have recommendations for Guy Savoy and a food court in the same thread – exactly what I wanted.

Has anyone tried Gordon Ramsay’s Pub yet? My brother-in-law is a Limey and I know he gets a little homesick for some traditional British meals (shepherd’s pie et. al.) from time to time. I just wanted to know if that place would be good for me to recommend to him or if he should look elsewhere for his Brit-fix.

    Thanks again!

I tried Gordon Ramsey's Pub on my Christmas trip. I had sliders and fries. The sliders were good and the fries were okay, big blocks of potato, but not tasty. As a beer person I found the list uninspired. The vibe is great and the staff were very nice. I would go again but would not go out of my way for it.

Mesa is good of course, been several times and like it.

Wolfgang Puck's is great for pizza and a good vibe.

I like Rao's but have never been to the original. My problem with Rao's at Caesar's is the service was spotty the last time I went, and it wasn't that busy.

since joes, and cheesecake factory, in the forum shops were included in, i will add the palm steakhouse in the mix. it looks like it would be extremely expensive, and just another steakhouse option, if chosen for dinner. i have always eaten their businessmans lunch, and that can be a pretty good value for what you get, if a person does not add alcohol in, then they make up their margins pretty fast.

but, a salad or soup, entree, and dessert, along with the onion strings and house made potato chips, make it a really full meal, that would cost a lot more ala carte at dinner. service is good, the bread basket is notable, so i tend to add a big glass of wine or a gin and tonic to the tab.

Joe's is one of my must-stops in Vegas. I went to Trevi last year and it was really good.
