I prefer dark casinos, and have like them ever since the first time I set foot into Caesars Palace as a kid. So dark and mysterious.

Now that I'm an adult, I like to gamble in the darker casinos. Caesars' days of having a dar casino are long gone...it looks like a bingo parlor in there now...seems like they are finishing their renovations as the trend may be shifting back to darker casinos...not sure.

Which hotels do you think have the darkest casinos?:peace:

Luxor always seemed dark. I haven't been there in a couple years, but I always remember being depressed by how dark it was. I can't think of anything else comparable

I'd have to say Casino Royal, probably cause of the real low ceilings.

I think the darkest casino I've been in is the Monte Carlo. Second would be the Aria. Everything is steeped in dark browns and reds with pale yellow lighting. Casino Royale is pretty dark. At least Casino Royale used to be dark but I've heard they've done some renovating since I last visited. Fourth would be the Golden Nugget.

    1. Monte Carlo
    2. Aria
    3. Casino Royale
    4. Golden Nugget

Excalibur is the darkest I can think of other than Casino Royale.

Though I would agree with most of the casinos listed I think Monte Carlo has the darkest casino floor of any, at least on the strip. Add to it that the place many times is dead slow with foot traffic or players it just seems very gloomy.

Interesting answers. I hate dark casinos. NYNY is my #1 hated casino for darkness. I won't even enter it anymore. I have vision issues and in a dark room I feel blind. I agree Caesars can be pretty dark in some areas also. Mirage is another one we don't go in because it feels too dark to us.

IP used to have a pretty dark casino - not sure if The Quad changes any of that or not, and doubt I'll go back anytime soon to find out. But I recall it being so dark it was hard to see the dice at the craps table.

The darker the better for me........NYNY is the best casino for gambling atmosphere and ambience for me personally but like you, I have vision issues as soon as I walk out of the place.................also blinded...........for ages as I hate wearing sunglasses.

Monte Carlo is pretty grim in fairness....just gives me an overall dark, gloomy feeling.

There is a difference between real darkness and perceived darkness, relative to light.
Since I am not privy to which places actually have the most light, allow me to share a couple I perceive to feel the darkest - Binions and Luxor.

Yep, IP (QUAD) is still very dark, especially before you get to the dealertainers. That area is very light, but up front where the craps and other table games are is very dark. Its also dark where most of the slots are as well.

I love a dark casino with low ceilings, which is probably why all the new fancy places don't appeal to me. It just feels like that's how casinos should be.

I'm just the opposite, I like those bright cheery casinos.

I've always found the ARIA to be pretty dark.

Harrah's is on the darker side. And MC is dark now although I recall it being rather bright and shining when it opened. I guess they thought making it dark would equate to being hip. NOT! But the darkest is probably the Silverton. It's not exactly dim but they blackout the windows and you truly lose all sense of time in that place.
