On a January 2013 trip, they rated me 22 hours @ average bet of $37 playing blackjack. Ignoring the fact that I got underrated by probably $7-8 per bet, which I tried to straighten out unsuccessfully, I generated less than $8 in express comps for the entire trip. Have things really gotten this bad? I know I am not a High Roller, and they shouldn't be bending over backwards for me, but in the past, I feel like I would have normally generated at least 3-4x this amount when I played at a lower average bet. If things really are that bad, are there any other options on the strip for table games players of my ilk? I know Caesar's/Harrah's properties aren't very table-player-friendly, especially if you're not at least a black chip player. I am still too young to want to stay downtown. That place just depresses me. Thanks in advance.
Any chance you used some of your Express Comps during the trip...or your host took some to settle up your bill? 22 hrs of $37 avg bet would be about $57,000 wagered (22hrs * 70hands/hr * $37). If the house edge they use to calculate BJ is 1%, your theoretical loss is $570 and if EC's equal roughly 17% of theo, you should have about $97 in EC's. No matter how you slice it, $8 in EC's seems extremely low. I'd contact your host (or someone in the players club) to look into that further.
That sounds low. My calculations is saying that 22 hrs x $37 at 60 hands/hr is nearly $49K coin-in. Even assuming theo win of 0.6% for BJ, that should yield $293 theo for the casino, and 5% of that in EC should be $15.
I think there is something wrong with EC this month. I was there last week, generated 200k in TC and received zero EC. My hoat is back from vacation today so I am going to call him tonight to fix it. But it just seems like it is an across the board problem recently
Unless something really weird is going on where someone is stealing my express comps without my knowledge, none were used. In fact, on the last day, I talked to multiple people who were baffled by the low $ of express comps that I generated. I've not been able to get any explanation, and my host hasn't gotten back to me. I imagine I'm about as low on his totem as you can get, so I may never get a reply from him. Does anyone else have any experience with talking to someone in the players club after their trip to resolve these kinds of things? Thanks Capt
If you can remember, will you please post any updates to this thread or otherwise PM me. I'd love to be armed with as much info as possible when I call these clowns.
something similar happened to me this past november. I checked in late at MGM on the first night... got my card from the players club and didnt feel like hitting the tables, so I played $1 and 5$ reel slots max bet for a good 3+ hours. I checked my account the next morning and nothing registered at all. Since it was all on slots and I'm good with making sure the card is reading when playing, my play should have been pretty straight forward and posted imediately but it didn't. When I went to the players club and told them what happened they looked at me like I had 2 heads and didn't know what I was talking about. They finally went to the back room and talked to a supervisor. They claimed they "fixed" the issue and got me all my credits and EC but I think they shorted me big time. I definately left MGM with a bad taste in my mouth... I really hope they straighten this crap out. It seems like if its an error in the players favor they make sure they straighten it out pretty quick but if the error is in their favor, they all play dumb.
We had a goofy issue that might be related back in November also. We started out the trip with a negative EC balance. It turns out it was due to that EC "audit" they did some time ago where they adjusted a lot of players accounts and some of them even to the negative. I wouldn't have known to mention that as a cause except for the fact that I heard it on this board. Appearantly those were the buzz words needed to clue in the right people though. We were still on property when we reported it but the MLife person on duty wasn't able to sort it out that night. It had to go up to a supervisor or something and they actually got it sorted just AFTER we checked out. I was able to get them to aply the EC's do my account and then refund my card that amount (since it'd already been charged). I would suggest contacting the MLife desk at the property you last stayed to see if maybe they can check on that. They should be able to see what your EC balance was at the beginning of your stay. If it was negative then there is your answer and you were a victim of the same audit as me and many others.
