I was considering leaving Mlife to play at the Cosmo. How are comps at the Cosmo? I usually play $100-200 per hand in baccarat. I usually play 4-5 shoes (~50 hands per shoe) per day. Will I get free rooms that I can use on the weekends, none of the Sun-Thurs rooms?

I have no idea what your level of play warrants, but I can tell you that most people consider Cosmo's players club to be a joke and one of the stingiest on the strip.

That's a bummer. From Mlife, I get comped rooms at Aria and MB, where all my play is focused.

My experience as a slot slut is that Cosmo is tight on anything other than rooms. After 2 years of not being able to see my points online - I gave up. I will stick with MGM with free rooms/suites, food and freeplay.

They have the worst website for looking at points. Because it does not exist. I call them about every 6 months to get a good laugh. I say that I cannot get in to the online account, and they say it is down. They are working on it, and it should be up shortly. I just laugh, and say thanks. It has been a couple of years since you could actually logon to it.

What is the best offer anyone has seen from Cosmo? My friend gambled around $500 over 2 days and got 2 nights Sun-Thurs and Friday and Saturday at casino rate with $100 dining credit. I'm just curious because on my most recent visit, I played a lot more than that.

The best for me so far is 4 nights comp, $1,000 slot credits and $300 dining credits.

Most people who are well comped at other properties are not happy with the upfront offers from Cosmo.

Since my offers have been sucking dick everywhere, I went with Cosmo last trip and will share my experience with you.

I had a Sun-Thur 2 night comp but was able to use it for a Thur and Fri for a fountain view Terrace Studio. I hadn't stayed in that room before but I thought it was great. We had a small group so combined that offer with their cyber Monday special which was 2 nights in a wraparound for $500 total with a $500 resort credit (good for food/drink/mechandise).

So basically the upfront deal was 4 nights for $500. We had some minor room charges, internet, room service, rollaways, and I visited the VIP lounge just before checkout where they comped all but i think $23 of the stay. I played way smaller than the original poster here.

So in summary, I think Cosmo is deficient in upfront offers, but comps fairly on the back end. To me the property is so superior for what I prefer that its well worth the risk of having to pay.

I'm a local who was playing there often......and they finally gave me 20 dollars free play each week. That's not very good but it was something. Then I played there even more...........and they dropped me to 10 dollars a week the next month. That's not a good sign. I peeked at the computer when they were giving me my free play at the club and it said comp $263. I asked what that meant.........am I entitled to free food? The lady at the club said that comp value doesn't mean anything. I guess I can talk to a host but it seems odd I would get a response like that.

I'm taking advantage of a mail offer I got from Cosmo. It is 2 free nights in a Terrace Suite. I was killing some time there (about an hour) and I spent no more than $100 of my money in penny slots. So thats what the Cosmo has offered me. I really don't expect anything else at my level of play. I feel very lucky to get this offer. Lately I've been getting offers from casinos I haven't stepped foot in a year or more.

I don't feel tied to any casino and don't gamble anywhere just for the comps. I go for the fun and winning and comps are a bonus.

Sorry to piggyback, but had a quick dumb question that wasn't worth its own thread...

But do you need a host for backend comps? I get that you should charge everything to your room but when you're checking out are the front desk folks going to be able to comp additional things (beyond like express comps) or do you need a host to do that for you behind-the-scenes?

You can go to the on duty host. They won't be able to do it at the front desk usually.

At the Cosmo front desk, there is a VIP room off to the right. You go in there and tell the guy at that desk you are preparing to check out and would like your play reviewed. He will call a host and handle it over the phone for you.

Alternatively you could talk to your own host directly, or go to the host on duty in the high limit room.

I prefer just to go through the guy in VIP right by the front desk rather than try to track down a host on my own.

My experience to go to the VIP folks instead of a host is the VIP staff will just take the points off your account, but if you go to a host, they can do back-end comps without touching your points. You can save your points for shopping or whatsoever as you wish !
