    Hello all

    I'm new to this board(from Jersey) and I never been to Vegas in April
    I usually take a trip once a year but only been the months of March, Sept, Oct and Nov.

    I have a couple questions for anybody that can give me feedback.
    Of late, I have always stayed at the MGM and I'm working on booking this week but had issues finding MGM for the date I am going on all the travel websites (Thurs April 4 - Monday April 8)...so I just called the MGM and they are already all booked that Sat/Sun because of the Country music awards.
    I'm just use to MGM, never had a bad time, love the casino floor and pool (Love Wet Republic)
    So I guess I need to finally pick a new location. Any advice on what Hotel would be the best when it comes to pools and not only pools, but a pool with a nice party and a social crowd. I 'm very in to housemusic, but really all kind of music. If anybody knows if any big name DJs will be in Vegas that week and so on.
    Any info on clubs and bars would be helpful as well
    I'm going with my 3 other friends and were all males and late 20s, coming from Jersey.
    I just know Vegas changes every couple years with nightlife and parties and my last trip was March 2011 and I really did not leave the MGM, only for Drais one night afterhours. I usually always leave the hotel, but for some reason I went to the clubs inside the MGM because the pool kicked my ass all day.

    Thanks for any help you can give me

    My recommendations would be: Mandalay Bay, Cosmopolitan, and Wynn/Encore. Unfortunately, Wynn/Encore has been going after a new demographic which is the younger party crowd. Cosmo has a nice pool and you're right next to Marquee. Wynn/Encore has XS and Surrender.

    Thanks for the feeback guys. After talking with my group, we are leaning towards The Cosmopolitan. I def would rather stay at a hotel that has a really good pool party, but with that said...I would prob go to a pool party (in which i pay whatever cover they charge(my guess around 50 bucks) like 2 times in a 4 day span.....I guess my next question is, are the pools at Cosmo or Hard Rock, rocking, even without going to the "club" experience?? Because I will def be at the pool all day Thurs, Frid, Sat and Sunday.
    Thanks

    BTW..Anybody have any sites that would be the best way to book?
    I usually use travelocity but I was told there were better sites out there

    Pool scene = XS @ Encore
    Nightlife = Tie
    Location = Cosmo
    Party = Cosmo

    These are just my opinions.

    I put "tie" because I think they are both the same for nightlife. Yup, you can go inside the pool at XS at night.

    It's not the best location of the ones suggested but how about the Palms? I don't know much about it other than it's reputation. Planet Hollywood, from the reviews I've been reading, has a pretty good young pool party atmosphere.

    Cosmopolitan is the way to go for what you are describing. Marquee is one of the top pool parties in Vegas right now (better than Wet Republic & EBC, imo) and also one of the best clubs (right there with XS).

    And the amount of beautiful women at the Cosmo will leave your jaw on the floor. Cosmo is the newest on the Strip, it's the youngest crowd, great food/bar options and the talent there...wow.

    Only downside of it is the casino is a little dead for my taste.

    Vegas in April is a great time to go. I would also recommend the Cosmopolitan based on your Vegas trip preference. Aria also has a party style pool that seemed to be pretty busy (I was there in September and the spa has a section that overlooks the party pool). But it doesn't have the same vibe as Cosmo.

    The one thing you should know about your dates is that they are just prior to the NAB show which brings in quite a few people. Prices on Friday and Saturday night may be standard or a bit above. But Sunday will be well above average.

    here is what my honest opinion of erncore/ wynn are like.

    They are over the top fancy with super expensive food and drinks. I usually stay away from them because I dont want to pay those high prices for the same stuff I can get across the street for 1/2 the price.

    Not to take away from them, they are super nice but i dont really need that level of niceness.

    The remind me of going to my rich in laws house. Sure, its nice but I am insanely uncomfortable the whole time.

    Keep in mind that with the cma's in town everywhere you go will be pricey.

    i would stay at cosmo if thats in your price range. its a great place with a much looser vibe.
