My Trip Report

Here is my attempt at a Trip Report. Sorry it took me a month to do it.

This was a solo trip, which is the norm. I stayed at Treasure Island, in one of its Strip View rooms. I'm going to break up my report. One day = one post. I hope that's ok.

    Day 1, December 11, 2012:

My plane landed at 8:25am. An uneventful flight except for the little kid next to me who had to use his & my barf bags. :vomit:
Anyway, I got to Treasure Island a little after 9am. Check in wasn't til 10am. I dropped off my bag & went to the buffet at TI for breakfast. Nice buffet with very good food.
After breakfast I went to the front desk & checked in. I was able to go to my room right after check in, which was about 10:30am. This is the earliest I've ever been able to get to my room during the first day of a trip to Vegas. It was always after 3pm during other trips. It was one of the smaller rooms I've stayed in, but still a nice room.

It had a nice view of the Strip:

I left my room & went to the Wynn for the Ferrari show room. I got there about 12:30pm. Paid $10 to look at cars I can't afford. Even the basic shirts in the gift store were crazy high $$$$. I would love to own a Ferrari. Maybe if I win the lottery. After the Ferraris I walked around the Wynn & Encore taking pictures. This was the seccond time being in the Wynn & first time being in the Encore. Very fancy.
I then went to the Fashion Show Mall. First time setting foot in it. OK, nothing fancy. I'm not a big mall person.
Went to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. I wanted to watch the Fall of Atlantis. Wasn't able to see it. Guess I missed it or they were shut down for the season. Not sure. One of my favorite pictures that I've taken while in Vegas, in the front window of one of the stores at the Forum Shops:

After the Forum Shops I went back to my room to relax.

For dinner I went to Hooters. In a thread about Hooters I posted a couple pictures showing why I like going to there, the lady who is normally behind the bar. During my trip in April 2012 I missed her. She was leaving as I was getting there. So, for this trip I decided to get to Hooters earlier, about 4:45pm. Damn it.... she wasn't there!!! :( But another nice lady was:

Ate a very good Texas Melt Burger & Fries. As I was getting ready to leave, guess who showed up!!! Yup, the lady who I like!!! Another missed opportunity. Maybe next time. Well, I had to leave. Places to be.
I made my way to the Fremont Street Experience on one of the express buses. I arrived at 7:40pm. Walked around the place, through the casinos, watched some of the light shows, took some pictures & videos.

I left Fremont around 10:15pm. Got back to my room at 10:40pm. Went to bed at 11:40pm.

Next up, Day #2, December 12, 2012. All the pictures & videos I post in my report I took myself. I'll post a link to my Flickr set in my post about Day #3.

I don't understand the furniture selection for your room. What's with the little thin lounger? If a guest wanted to sit like that, they would just sit on the bed. It looks redundant and uncomfortable. Personally, I would like to see more recliners where I can read or something I can sit at and eat.

Nice report! Great pictures and video!

Is the guy in the red suit supposed to be someone, like the other people in costume?

    Day #2, December 12, 2012.

Woke up at 6:00am. Got ready for the day. Headed for breakfast at the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace. I got there at 7:35am. Didn't have to wait in line at all. That surprised me a lot because of all the reports of long waits that I read in other threads. I was very impressed with the Bacchanal. It's much better than the previous buffet at Caesars, Lavo.
I wanted to go on the Jubilee backstage tour at Bally's. For the second trip in a row it was cancelled. I was disappointed, but not surprised.
I then made my way to the Mob Museum, which is just off of the Fremont Street Experience. It was a great place to visit. Well worth the price of admission ($19.99 if I remember correctly). There was more to it than I thought there was going to be.

After the Mob Museum, I went back to Fremont Street and walked around a bit. It really is amazing how different Fremont is during the day versus the night. It's almost dead during the day. I did take a few pictures, including this nice one:

I went back to the Strip. Next up was the Madame Tussauds wax museum at the Venetian. It's one of my favorite places to go to while in Vegas. They changed some things around since my previous trip. Took a lot of pictures & some videos.

A friend of mine thought the wax Cameron Diaz looks creepy. I agree. :)

After Madame Tussauds, I walked around the Venetian. Took some pictures & a video.

I made my way to the Da Vinci Exhibit, which was near the front lobby of the Venetian. Learned some neat things about Da Vinci. The exhibit wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be. Still, very nice.
I then went to Cabo Wabo at Planet Hollywood for dinner. Kinda wish I hadn't. The chips were good, but the salsa & food was just ok. The least of the Mexican food that I've had in Vegas.
After dinner I crossed the street to take in some of the water fountain shows at the Bellagio.

I came across the Canadian Tenors shooting a special for a Canadian tv show. They sung O Holy Night twice in front of the water fountain at the Bellagio. I recorded both performances. I think the second video is better because I'm closer to the Tenors, not as many people in front of me.

    Performance #1

    Performance #2

In between the two performances, the Tenors sung Happy Birthday to a lady from the audience.

Being that it was 12/12/12, there were a lot of weddings going on in Vegas. I saw more people in wedding cloths this one day than my previous five trips combined. I came across a wedding in front of the Bellagio's water fountain.

Have no idea who these people are, but I took part in their wedding anyway!!! :) A cousin of mine did the same thing the following week.
I then went back to my room to rest. Got back at 7:45pm. My original plan was to rest a couple hours & then head out for some night photography. Well, that didn't happen. Turns out I was very tired because I didn't get much sleep the night before. The longer I stayed in bed, the more difficult it got for me to get up. Earliest I've gone to bed in a long time, Vegas or anywhere else. I was upset with myself. This cost me a lot of night photography.
Next up, Day 3, December 13, 2013 (plus going home day).

    Day #3, Thursday, December 13, 2012.

Got up at 6:30am. For breakfast I ate at Wynn's buffet. Arrived at 7:55am. Very nice & very good food. Too much food intake!!! I like that the buffet had this at the entrance:

I then made my way to the Bellagio. Along the way I came across a lonely chili dog.

If I remember correctly, there was a hot dog place nearby. This was probably their way of advertising.

My first stop in the Bellagio was the Fine Arts museum. It had a special about Monet. After that, I went to the conservatory. It never disappoints!!! :)

I then went to the Luxor to visit Score. It had some nice memorabilia & a few interactive things. Not sure if it's worth $31. Wasn't as much to it as I thought there was going to be.
I went to the Hooters casino & bought a crop top shirt for a lady friend of mine. By now light rain was falling. A prelude of things to come.
On my way back to my room, I came across some ducklings in front of The Mirage.

After resting for a while I went to Lagasse's Stadium at the Palazzo for dinner. Got there a little after 5:30pm. They had Thursday night football on tv. The Seahawks vs Eagles. I ate the chicken nachos. Best nachos ever!!!

I had a show to go to at the Luxor at 10:30pm. I also had time to kill. I went back to my room to wait. I planned on leaving Treasure Island at 9:15 to head over to the Luxor. I feel asleep. I woke up at 9:33. :grrr: I had to haul myself to the Luxor as fast as I could. It was also raining. That's ok I thought. I'll use the train that goes down to the MGM Grand. I thought I wasn't going to make it. It started to rain a little bit harder. I wasn't soaked, but still wetter than I wanted to be & should have been. Looking back I should have taken a cab. I told myself that if it was raining after the show, I'll take a cab back to Treasure Island.
I did make it to the show with only a few minutes to spare. The show was Fantasy. My favorite show in Vegas. I sat in the first row (assigned seating). It had some new dancers & numbers. Lorena Peril, the host & singer of the show came down off the stage to mingle with the crowd. She put her (clothed) chest in my face!!! I said "Thank You" & she told the audience that I have good manners. After the show I bought a Fantasy 2013 calendar. I also took some pictures of the dancers who were in the lobby with the audience.

Nice way to end a night.
Well, it was still raining. So, I used the walkway that connects the Luxor to the Excalibur. I then took a cab to Treasure Island. Went to bed.

December 14, 2014. Friday. Going home day.

Got to the airport a little after 7:00am. Ate at Cinnabon for breakfast. My plane took off at 9:40am. Uneventful flight. No barfing kid this time around!!! Plane got to Houston at about 2:30pm.

I'm happy with the trip. Looking forward to my next Vegas trip. I'm hoping to go for my birthday in June. Not sure which casino/hotel I would stay at yet.
