So for the longest time I've been consistently receiving room offers from Stations for a once a month use of either 2 nights comped at RR/GVR or 3 nights at any of the other properties and I was waiting for my Feb offer to roll around. It finally did and it was specifically for GVR for up to 3 nights Feb - Apr. I am going again in Feb and wanted to stay at Red Rock for my birthday. I called an on duty host at RR as I am not assigned one (I am only Platinum) and asked if she could extend that same offer to me at Red Rock and she said she could not (offer was non trasferable). I then asked since they were sending me the offer monthly for either RR or GVR if I could do that for Feb instead. I was denied on that, but she did see the 59/night superbowl special I was eligible for (which is not for when I am going). She also told me she could not comp me anything up front but I could get a speical 80/night room rate (I wonder if the 24.99 resort fee would have been waived, I didn't ask) and that my play could be evaluated at the end of my trip. I politely declined and thanked her. It just seemed to leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

RR has always been the station that I've always played the majority of my time/money at but the last 2 months I was lucky enough to go with a friend and learn about the joys of video poker vs regular slot machines at GVR. Now my Stations Casino offer is for GVR and my "home" Station (Red Rock) almost seems to have turned its back to me.

Is it typical for casinos of the same company to get so cut throat over it's players? I mean, it's RR vs GVR, it's not like I'm trying to go from Boulder to RR or GVR. Perhaps I need to "reestablish" myself at Red Rock once again and just "bite the bullet" and do the 80/night and see what happens. I'm trying to not write this post with a sense of entitlement because I've played at your property that you OWE me something, but I'm just rather looking for some insight into the way the casino/hosts minds work. :D

    What are your thoughts/experiences?

Funny you should post this. I have been getting the same deal as you for years. Now, I am going in April, and I was going to use my 2 free nights there as part of my stay. I am also a platinimum player. I did not get the offers from other stataion casions this time. I got one just for RR. It was $59 per night, no free nights. When I called, I too spoke with the female casino host. She said this was the offer and it came from corporate not the casino. She did not offer anything but what was offered by corporate. She did say the resort fee was cut in half and then I would need to add a 14% tax. I was shocked. She advised me that she would check my play while I was there and perhaps could comp some or all of my stay. I also learned that Stations no longer has roll over points. I told her this was awful for out of town guests. She said that they had that promotion for 1 year and decided to stop it this year. If you want to stay at Platinimum level you will have to earn the whole 40,000 points within 6 months. Since I fly in from FL every 6 months and stay for a week, sometimes two, I find this to be difficult. It may be fine if you live in Vegas but not for most visitors.
My friend spoke to the same host. My friend is comped at Palace Station with free rooms for her entire stay but if she chooses to go to RR they will give her 2 free nights and the other nights at casino rates. When she got her postcard there was no mention of any other casino just Palace Station. I get the feeling that Stations does not encourage changing hotels.
We shall see if this is a good move for Stations, I know Í'm not fond of it.

See now I wouldn't have been MAD if I would have received the 59/night with the 12.50 a night resort fee for Red Rock. BUT, I received it for GVR and they wouldn't honor it at Red Rock. Granted, if you switch the GV in the offer code to RR it actually shows you a 59.00/night rate but when you try to book it I'm blocked because it doesn't pass their "Offer Processing" and I'm blocked. They did offer 80/night and to "review my play" at the end. I shoulda asked if the 80/night had a waived resort fee but it seems like as if times are tough, probably not. I barely played at Rio last Feb but apparently I played enough to score 4 free nights at the Flamingo for my Feb trip. Who knows maybe I'll still get that Feb offer from Stations as they used to do it where I'd get an offer for one specific month and then another offer for another 2 nights within a 3 month time frame. It was nice to end up being able to string 4 free nights together.

For 3 years I stayed (comped) at Red Rock twice a year for 2 or 3 nights. Then last summer my host left and when I went to set up a trip with a new host, I was told the best they could do was close to $100 a night for a mid-week in August stay + resort fees.
My last 2 visits I lost over $1,000 and I never asked to have my food comped so I did not abuse the comps.
I always enjoyed the rooms, pool and service at Red Rock but when I can stay at the Wynn or Caesars Palace for less, or Paris, Bally's and Orleans comped Red Rock lost me as a customer.
I am from the east coast and I also don't agree with the policy to erase points after 6 months.

My offers for Red Rock were always from "Marketing Dept."
Hosts couldn't do anything at our low roller VP play.
My wife + I used to stay + play there at least two trips a year.
    ( we're from the East Coast )
We'd get a GVR offer thrown in, as well.
Stayed there once.....found it way too quiet/dead/ far away.
    .
Then, RR offers started drying up --
and we just followed other offers.
    Now, we're off their radar.
    Funny how that goes ?
I did get to know a guy in "Marketing" - who helped
me with offers.......but maybe, he left ?

Just a FYI points at Boyd are also good only for one year, then they expire. 6 months if you are a local.

We are just the reverse! We visit about 6 times a year and usually stay & play at GVR. We received the offer for Red Rock! Isn't that strange. And our usual offer for all Stations properties for February is nowhere to be seen. No doubt this is another "genious" idea from coporate marketing that will hopefully go over like a lead balloon and they will come to their senses. It's true that many times the hosts have their hands tied as well when it comes to getting around the "rules."
The fact that they stopped the rollover points is another HUGE mistake on their part. We are President and there is just NO WAY we can keep up with that now.
Let's hope they realize how stupid this is.......

Status Credits and Points are different. The number of Status Credits earned in a 6 month period plus any Rollover Status Credits from the previous 6 month earning period determine your level. Stations used to roll over the Status Credits for just the next 6 month earning period. Rollover Status Credits always expired at the end of the current 6 month earning period.

Let's say you didn't play at Stations the second half of 2011. That means you started out 2012 with 0 Status Credits and 0 Rollover Credits. And lets say you played at Stations in March of 2012 and earned 75,000 Status Credits. It takes 40,000 Status Credits to reach Platinum and 100,000 to reach President. Since you earned 75,000 Status Credits with that March trip, you reached the Platinum level which is good thru the end of that current period (through 6/30/2012) and all of the following 6 month period (7/1/2012 - 12/31/2012).

Now let's assume your next trip to Stations was in August of 2012. As of 7/1/2012, your were at the Platinum level with 35,000 Status Credits. These were the Rollover Status Credits from the previous 6 month period and these Rollover Status Credits would expire at the end of this current earning period which is 12/31/2012. Because of the 35,000 Rollover Status Credits, you would only need to earn an additional 5,000 Status Credits to keep the Platinum level through the next 6 month period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013). And you would only need to earn 65,000 Status Credits in the current 6 month earning period to move up to President level good through the end of the next earning period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013).

Let's now assume you earned 75,000 Status Credits on this August trip to Stations. That gives you 110,000 Status Credits. That means you moved up to President level through the end of the next earning period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013). In this case, even if Stations didn't stop the Rollover Status Credits, you wouldn't have any Status Credits to rollover over into the next earning period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013). Remember, Rollover Status Credits expire after the end of the current earning period (12/31/2012). Those 35,000 Rollover Status Credits would have expired at the end of the current earning period (12/31/2012). Since you made President in August of 2012, even if Stations continued with the Rollover Status Credits, you would have had to have earned more than 100,000 Status Credits during that 6 month earning period (7/1/2012 - 12/31/3012) in order to rollover any Status Credits into the next 6 month earning period.

But since they did stop the Rollover Status Credits on 12/31/2012, you now have to earn the full amount of the required credits required for each level. Between 1/1/2013 and 6/30/2013, you would need to earn the full 40,000 Status Credits to earn Platinum good through the end of the next earning period. Between 1/1/2013 and 6/30/2013, you would need to earn the full 100,000 Status Credits to earn President good through the end of the next earning period. Any points earned above your required points for your particular level would not be rolled over into the next earning period. For example, if you earned 99,999 Status credits between 1/1/2013 and 6/30/2013, you would still only be Platinum (good through 12/31/2013) and at the start of the next earning period (7/1/2013 - 12/31/2013), you would start over again at 0 Status Credits.

Points, on the other hand, are earned independent of Status Credits and these don't expire unless maybe you stop playing at Stations. I think as long as you play at Stations at least once a year, your points will remain on your boarding pass until you cash them in for "free play", use them for meals, or cashed them in for cold hard cash (1000 points = $1).

    Cruiser

Wow cruiser that was a great post. I had almost 273,000 credits earned last period and only about 30,000 roll over. So I have chairman status till 6/30/2012. But I would have hardly had to make any credits now. Soooooo now start from zero. Meanwhile I lost 28,000 on my win loss statement from them. I better be getting liots of free rooms

I needed to earn around 1100 points to extend my platinum from expiring on 7/1/2013 to 12/31/2013 and on NYE (12/31/2012) I got my final 899 points needed to keep my platinum. But, when I log into mystation.com my expiration still shows as being 7/1/2013.

I had emailed the casino a few weeks earlier and was told that I needed the 1100 credits by 12/30/2012 to keep platinum until 12/31/2013 but I thought the rating period ended 12/31/2012. Maybe it just takes a little time for their system to update.

I agree, thank you Cruiser for the in-depth response :)

I'm sorry for the way that RR and GVR are treating some of you but happy to hear that we're not the only ones getting screwed by them. We are president's and have been staying for 3 comped nights 3-4 times a year including Super Bowl parties and VIP July 4th parties. When we called to make our SB reservations, they want us to pay $59/night. Since we have lots of points, we booked the room and will pay for our room with points if we decide to stay there. We also have an offer for Flamingo's SB party and are seriously thinking of going there instead. We love RR and GVR but if this is how they're treating their "valued guests" we may have to rethink our loyalty. Hosts couldn't do anything for us either. I do hope that they come to their senses soon. We really don't want to give up on them.

The earning periods are January 1 through June 30 and July 1 through December 31. If you "earned" Platinum level during the 7/1/2012 - 12/31/2012 earning period, that level would be good through the next earning period as well (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013). Regardless of how many Status Credits you earned by 12/31/2012, your "earned" level would only be good through the next earning period which ends 7/1/2013. Whatever Status Level you earned between 7/1/2012 and 12/31/2012 will be your Status Level on 1/1/2013. This level will expire on 7/1/2013. The number of Status Credits you "earn" during the current earning period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013), will determine if your level goes up in this current earning period and whatever Status Level you earn by 6/30/2013 will be your Status level on 7/1/2013 good through 12/31/2013.

Let's say you earned Platinum by the end of the last earning period which ended on 12/31/2012. You'll begin this current earning period at the Platinum level. This level is set to expire on 7/1/2013. You will need to earn 40,000 Status Credits between 1/1/2013 and 6/30/2013 to extend that Platinum level through 12/31/2013. If you were to earn 100,000 Status Credits between 1/1/2013 and 6/30/2013, you would move up to President Level at the point that you reached 100,000 Status Credits and that level would be good through the end of the current earning period (1/1/2013 - 6/30/2013) and also good through the next earning period (7/1/2013 - 12/31/2013).

The roll-over points are showing on my home page of my offers. I was told over the NYE wknd, that, due to the overwhelming complaints,(mostly for the short notice of the roll-over stoppage)they would continue with the rollover program for 1 more 6 mo. cycle.

Like some others we have (had) a lot of points so will try one more time if nolthing else to use the accumulated points. Really like the properties and do not like the strip anymore. Sad.

I can't confirm that Stations has decided to continue with the rollover Status Credits to this current earning period. When I log onto mystation.com, it shows my rollover status credits but it also says the rollover status credits ended on 12/31/2012. So the website is not up to date.
