I was in there a couple of times over the years for a quick drink and tried my (no ) luck on the slots. Drinks were decent, people seemed ok. I wouldnt have a problem going for a drink, but wouldnt invest too much of a bankroll on their slots /vp.

We go there every trip for our drunken $2.50 hot dog and beer or three. It's not really a place to go to gamble. It's really a bar that has some bar top games.

It's cheap and filthy. Who could ask for more.

If this is Stage Door by Batistas, everytime I go by there someone is getting arrested in their parking lot.

Stage Door is great, I like dive bars, and this is a classic dive bar:beer:
$2.50 beer and hotdog, $2.50 for a Pabst Blue Ribbon and shot of bourbon:beer:
I always make it to the stage door at least once every trip

Just went a few weeks ago and lived it.

went twice and both times I had a great time. Of course bartenders make or break a place. The first night there was a blonde girl and the next night a korean girl.

Both had great personalities and were attentive and seemed to be having fun which makes it so everyone was having fun.

Of course you could say it sucked if you chose not to engage them. If you did that it would just be a dive bar with a smelly and small bathroom.

its what you make of it. I liked it because it seemed like I could really be myself and get away from the strip where you sort of have to be "on" all the time.

i would honestly say that most lilely about 50% of the people who hear about it here will not like it.

To give you some perspective, it is nowhere near as lavish and nice as ellis island or casino royale.

Hit it right on the head. Makes Casino Royale look like the Wynn. Went there on a solo trip two years ago when I was already real drunk, even went back the next day and was a good time. Went there with a friend the next trip after only a few drinks...................Wow the food was bad being that I wasn't drunk, but it sure is cheap if you only have a $10 budget for the day.

How many years are left on their lease?
Are the bartenders hot? If I'm that close to the strip I want some eye candy.

Sounds like a place for us !!

I had a friend suggest it and after the old google trick. I seen quite a few raving reviews of this was the place to go to have a few cheap drinks , let your hair down and have a damn good time...

But tossed in there was a few rants about location and patrons...

Well this place sounds like just what we need .. thanks for the review

LOVE Stage Door! Awesome bartenders, cheap drinks and cheap bar food. DH and I always end up meeting and talking to other tourists/vacationers. No table games, pretty much all bar-top machines. But you really don't go there to gamble, you go there for the cheap drinks and food. Oh, and there's a little convenience store attached right next to Stage Door. They have the cheapest bottled water around. I swear if Stage Door closes down, then I don't want to go back to Vegas anymore. All the good, cheap, fun places are being shut down and replaced with fancy-schmancy crap :grrr: , and if Stage Door closes then that's it, I'm done with Vegas.

Stage Door is fantastic and super handy if you're staying at Bally's.

    Still don't get the appeal.

Wouldn't you rather pay a little more for food at a "clean" place?

    no, I would not.

I would actually pay more to eat and drink here if they asked for it.

Love the Stage Door. Heard about it on here and went on my last trip. Got there around 12:30 in the afternoon and one guy was being cut off and getting belligerent. He was asked to leave and there weren't any more issues. Bartenders are great, and so are the hotdogs. I'll be going back every trip from now on.

We are popping our Stage Door cherry next week. I saw it from across the lot last year but never made it over there. Cheap beer and dogs will be just what I need about midday mardi gras!

We love the easy access to Stage Door when we are staying at Ballys. Besides using the package store for our usual supplies we hit the bar often. Last September we left the Ballys pool for a quick bite to eat, ironically so did many of the people who we saw at the pool. Though it may not meet some peoples expectations it does get it fair share of regulars mixed with tourist.

There's this older Asian bartender who's hilarious. (I think it's the gal you're talking about CousinEddie) She actually remembered me from when I was there 6 months earlier. If you want super cheap shots, super cheap beers and a dog or two, Backstage is the best for sitting back and people watching. I've been there in the middle of the day. I've been there at 4 in the am. My fav dive bar I've experienced in Vegas. No one dresses up. No posers. Just people being loud and getting their drink on. I'm taking a solo trip (although I'm meeting my parents there) and in my down time, I'm hitting the stage.

I bought snacks and packaged drinks at their convenience store. I don't know that I would eat their food. I really don't think I would use their ladies room. But, I'm making a note to dare my husband to eat one of their hot dogs next time.
