Hello from Dallas!

    North Texas to be exact. Went to the Strip the first time few years ago as part of a road trip -- and was immensely mesmerized by the lights, sounds and all kinds of people. Later on had an assignment in LV and was staying on and off the Strip for weeks - that's when the explorer in me had the chance to discover what the Strip has to offer. Became friends with some locals, and got introduced to some great restaurants off the Strip. One of it is Nora's Cuisine - my favorite for Italian dishes.

    Welcome from another Texan, Dallas area here. We Texans love our Vegas since we aren't allowed to gamble in Texas. Bummer!!!!:beer:

    Thats for sure!! In Plano, we weren't allowed to gamble, go to most stores on Sunday and had to drive to Addison or Dallas for tequila...vegas is a needed release.

    Vegas3, speaking of strange laws in Texas. Last trip to Vegas, I went in a little store on the way from the airport to buy beer but it was only 9 in the morning on a Sunday so I ask if I was allowed to buy beer that early. They all laughed and said you look old enough to us. I told them I was just checking because in Texas we can't buy beer on Sundays until noon and no liquor on Sunday. They said you can anything you want to drink at any time. Silly law.:beer:

    Hello and welcome from another fellow Texan in the Dallas area...I guess we Texans DO love our Vegas. :) Although, I loved Las Vegas even when we lived in Oklahoma for 3 years and gambled at a casino close to our home. Talk about silly laws - can't buy wine at the grocery store or refrigerated beer at liquor stores there, but you can find many a casino!:rolleyes2:

    Yup - silly law on buying alcohols on Sundays in TX.

    Anyways - it seemed that whenever I tuned into local LV TV channels - there are lots of lawyer ads and some very cheesy ones!
