Monte Carlo is $200 for two nights and Hilton is $100 for two nights

Is the Hilton within walking distance to the strip?

Or would we have to cab it?

I would pick the MC over the LVH and I'm not a huge MC fan! I think for me, the valuable Vegas time I would spend traveling to and from other casinos will be worth the 100 bucks. If you have an event at the LVH or a reason you won't want to leave regularly, then it might be okay for you. I would consider how mobile you will want to be around the strip.

Someone with more monorail knowledge, is there a stop at the LVH? That might help the OP too.

I would go MC - kind of in the middle of it all. Not sure on the quality of the walk but you would be considered to be at the north end of the strip. You will probably end up cabbing it if you go Hilton.

Went to see Dice at the Hilton a few years ago - Dice was great - Hilton wasn't my vibe.

I forgot about the Monorail - yes, it stops at Hilton and Convention Center both.

Monte Carlo. Definitely worth the extra money just for the location alone, IMO.

Hilton is NOT within a good walking distance of the strip. There is a monorail stop there that will easily get you to the strip, but that can be a pain and you'll have to pay for it obviously.

No question...MC & I'm not a real big fan of the place and never stayed there but many on here like it. We have stayed at LVH years ago and liked the place a lot but it is close to nothing - the monorail is there but can get expensive and you waste a lot of valuable LV time.

I agree with all of the previous posters, definitely spend the extra on MC. You'd likely spend that much on cabs back and forth unless you are very into walking. It's quite a ways away. MC is in a very good location, with a free tram to Aria and Bellagio. I've stayed there and it's a better than decent property.

If it had to be between those two, I would choose MC to be on the strip.

Aren't there any hotels in between those two prices worth considering?

This is where I am. There are a bunch of other places I would choose ahead of either of these. Between the two, I would rather be at LVH, but I am not your typical Vegas goer. I like the old school vibe of the LVH and could care less about the strip.

I've not been there since it's renaming, but I HATED the Hilton. Monte Carlo all the way. It's clean, the staff are nice, and it has the better location. Monte Carlo is not the most thrilling casino. It's pretty generic and gets lost in the shuffle, but it's a million times better than the Vegas Hilton in my opinion.

MC hands down. Tram to Bellagio if you want to go points north. Easy walk to Excalibur for tram to Luxor and MB. Many more food options closer.

Just to clarify - the LVH is not a Hilton property.

Remember, it's $25 a night for resort fees at the MC. So it's $250. I know the OP said LVH or MC, but I would stay at a Paris, or PH or even Bally's with no resort fee. My three cents.

There are lots of choices in Vegas. The one and only reason to do LVH is because you are at a convention there. And even that is a stretch.

Check out the map. Google is your friend.

You can NOT walk it. And the monorail is a pain.

I've stayed at the LVH a few times. The Sportsbook is a fun place to watch football and is a madhouse the weekend of the Breeders Cup, but I would agree with many of the others and recommend some place on the strip. LVH does have the monorail stop and you can walk to the strip, but I have found it more enjoyable staying on the strip.

The resort fee is $ 20 plus tax. it sucks. You do get little waters, two coffee pods, Internet, and printing at the business center. I was at MC last month and my regular room seemed updated. I really liked it. best thing to me was the proximity to the team to Bellagio and easy walkway to Aria.

If you are really thinking about LVH, why not look at other off strip properties close to the strip. Both Orleans and Gold Coast are close by, and there is a free shuttle.

Between MC and LVH, I would hands down pick MC for location. I know others will disagree, but when I am in Vegas I want to be in the middle of the Striip for the atmosphere.

Thanks for all the help guys we ended up going with Elara which used to be PH towers. It really is the perfect hotel for a guys trip...there's 6 of us and a two bedroom suite with a big sleeper sofa in the living room costs about $330 a night so about $700 with taxes for two nights...ends up $125 pp which is about what a regular room on fri and sat wouldda been if we got multiple rooms anyways...plus no resort fee at elara.

I would choose the Monte Carlo. First hotel I stayed in.
