I usually stay at the Aria or Bellagio but at my gambling level I usually only get a standard room comped for three nights. No free play and little to no food. For my next trip I want to drop a tier or two so that my comps will go farther.

I could use some advice on what to expect at either the Mirage or the Monte Carlo. I'm a $300 per hand (rated) BJ player who puts in at least 4 hours a night. Quality of room and things like show tickets are important to me since my family always joins me on my trips.

Would love to hear what you all have been comped and for what amount of play. Also could use advice on what type of room and location to ask for when I call for a host.

    Thanks in advance!

At $300/hand for 4 hours per day you are being considerably undercomped if all you're getting is a regular room and nothing else. Even at places like Aria and Bellagio. Talk to your host, if you don't have a host you should get one because that is nuts that you're basically getting comped nothing more than people who play at less than half your level get at those casinos.

Others can hopefully give you specific detail, but your play would go further at Mirage and even further at Monte Carlo. At Monte Carlo I wouldn't be surprised if that was enough for limited RFB.

Totally agree with Kickin Chicken, get a host NOW! If you already have one, get RID of him, you are being seriously undercomped! Although my betting has scaled back dramatically in the last year, I used to get 3 nights comped with a standard room at the Bellagio for $25/hand BJ for 6 hrs play (avg) a day. Granted, my wife had some slot play mixed in there as well, but at $300/hand you GOTTA get better!

I have a great host at Monte Carlo. You should check out HOTEL32 LOFTS. They are very nice rooms (I like them better than Aria Corner Suite) and it's nice to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond, right!?

Thanks for all the suggestions. For Aria and Bellagio I just book the email offers that I've been getting. I always thought that my play was too low to get a hosts attention at one of the top tier properties. I'll definitely try to book through a host next time.

Club81, I may be hitting you up for a host recommendation. I've heard good things about Hotel32 and would like to give it a try. I can't compete with the 10k a hand players at the HL room at the Aria. Maybe being the big fish in a small pond would suit me better.

I'm still not sure what it takes to get a host. The wisdom seems to be "you don't find a host, a host finds you", but I read lots of posts on this board from people who play a lot less than I do, but seem to have hosts.

    Any suggestions?

A lot of people here swear by hosts, I find them useless.

Even when I was playing at my highest level and getting comped Bellagio/Aria penthouses, the host was just another incompetent twit I had to deal with who could only screw up something easily handled accurately by the phone VIP reps.

I think today's host is a dying breed, desperately trying to justify their own unnecessary existence.

Dropping down from Aria to Mandalay Bay so far has been fantastic for me. Even with no hosts the offers I get from Mandalay for the same level of play have been much much better.

Last trip to Aria I dropped about $10k over 3 days/2nights with some pretty solid craps and blackjack play and the host I talked to basically just shrugged it off and said "well your room was already comped, so there's nothing more I can do" even though the offer I was on was just a 2 night comped (restricted to Sunday-Thursday) with a $50 resort credit.

Similar level of play at Mandalay got me a mailer offer of 3 nights any days of the week + $300 resort credit.

I won't ever be staying at Aria again.

That's exactly what the Bellagio told me. The Mandalay has always treated me well. If you haven't stayed in theHotel yet, I would recommend giving it a try on your next trip. One of our favorite places to stay on the strip.

I play way smaller than OP...$100 a hand kind of guy...and I called a random host at Mirage and he booked me in a suite on a weekend with $200 F&B.
