hahaha no way. I don't see this being much of a success since this is the first time I've heard the name Boy's II Men since 1995

LOL sad to say I know this, but they were just on tour with Justin Bieber. My daughter is a JB fan  Not sure I want to spend $150 seeing them perform.

That's usually the way it works with Vegas residencies. You don't start one when you're still topping the charts. You start one when you're not producing new stuff but still want to cash in on your golden era.

I imagine they'll do fine. You'd be surprised at the number of nostalgic people there would be. And those nostalgic people will be in their prime earning years or close to it.

They've been touring pretty consistently over the past few years and even play Vegas a few times a year (Orleans, I think). They didn't just wake up on the couch yesterday and say let's bring our group back. They've been continuing to sing for years now. Just don't have a lot of new material that I know of anyways.

I can't imagine them selling out shows 7 nights a week but if they're just playing weekends, they'll probably get good crowds.

20 years from now, Justin Bieber will be playing the Collosseum and our grandkids will be wondering who the heck this old fart is.

I think this is right. I grew up listening to these guys and instantly remember high school when I hear End of the Road or Motownphilly. I think by most measures Boyz II Men was an absolute phenomenon and there is at least a healthy chunk of Vegas-goers who would pay to relive a youth that included listening to them.

They did pretty well the last time they were in Vegas (December 2010?).

Remember that it's only THREE members of the group performing. The bass guy never agreed to tour, so it's the three others singing live with the fourth guy's low notes piped in. Since those low notes are sort of what defines the group's sound, reviews have been saying the group sounds dull/flat, without the richness that made them famous in the first place.

If Mirage could pay enough to convince that fourth guy to join them in Vegas, I bet their fans would flock to the shows. They would be the only venue in the last 10 years to feature the entire original group.

It's funny watching all you guys diss Boys II Men. Most of those 60M albums were filled with nothing but love songs and the tickets look to start at $40. It's a surefire way to set a romantic mood for the night. They could be some strong allies for guys looking to impress their significant others. I am guessing the fill in dates they've done at the Flamingo covering Donny and Marie breaks probably were successful and helped lead to this deal.

I'm actually pretty excited to hear about this.. Always enjoyed their music growing up.. They put on a pretty good performance when they were at the Flamingo over the Christmas holidays back in 2010.
