Does it still exist? I remember on my first legal trip to Vegas, I loved watching that hour or more long commercial on an infinite loop and it's own channel. Mainly just a girl going around to the different hot spots, pools, casinos, restaurants, shopping centers, and other attractions interviewing the owners, managers, etc. and convincing you that you "need" to check it out. Ever since then when I would make a trip back I would always spend an hour in my room watching that channel before I hit the strip, usually it would pay off as I would see some new things on there that had just been opened that I had not yet experienced. So, I haven't been to Vegas in well, quite awhile, but apparently MGM resorts no longer offers this channel in their room. Instead it's been replaced by three "M-Life" channels that only show you things at other MGM resorts? Intelligent marketing strategy, only feed the guests information that they'll make money off of and not show them great spots at competing business.... but still, I miss the 702. Do the Caesar's resorts still pipe "The 702" channel into their hotels? Or is it long gone? I'm guessing it was funded by all the resort corporations, so with MGM cutting them, maybe they shut it down all together? Of course this isn't enough to turn me off of returning to Vegas, but even something as small as that one hour of initial bliss during a vacation might make me book Caesar's over Bellagio, who knows? Just miss my all comprehensive overview show of Vegas.... wish they would have a Vegas channel that I could watch out here in California.... And on a side note, searching for a tv show called "the 702" about Vegas is frustrating.... too many area code results. And also, this has nothing to do with 702.tv
I was at Caesar's in october and the "702" channel was playing on a loop. If you watch for an hour or so you start to see the same stuff again.
Is that the channel that shows how to play various table games? I always try to put the TV on a channel like that, I try to avoid any news that doesn't involve sports.
I think all the hotels have a few of these channels, including a few in Japanese. The STRAT has one that supposedly is a live feed of Skyjump, but if you watch it for more than 15 minutes it's the same people- so on a loop.
Thats what I am thinking too. "The 702" was probably just the name of the specialty/advertising channel for HET/CET properties. MGM properties have their own infomercial type channel that detail events, attractions and dining on their properties and they have one for each of their hotel properties. There is also a more generic one done by the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority plus you do still see the "how to gamble" ones out there and the always exciting keno channels
I was at Monte Carlo last week and they had it. In fact, I had a regular room and it had a nice big flat screen with more channels than they had a couple years ago.
TV???? My last trip, I was there five days and never turned on the TV. Hell, I barely turned on a light. I was in the room and asleep in 5 minutes. I woke up, showered and was out of the room in 10. (ok, maybe twelve. I had to...well..you know).
Yup. Fox 5. Every morning when we wake up. Their topics are lighter than other channels. Perfect when on vacation. They have a lot of fun.
Ha! I was just going to say the same thing. It's part of my morning Vegas ritual..........'Waking up with the Wagners'. The '702' channel is still on, that chick is smoking hawt!
Just got back from another trip up to LV and thought I would update, even though I may be one of the few, or only, people who care. "The 702" as far as I can tell, is no longer piped into the MGM Resorts. It wasn't at Excalibur, or NYNY. Unless these are just isolated resorts, I'm just going to assume it's all of the MGM hotels. They instead have the "M-Life" channel. I can verify from personal experience that the 702 was not a Harrah's/Caesar's only channel, as I originally would watch it at the Excalibur. A bit sad to see it no longer available in those hotels as it covered all of the Vegas resorts. Nonetheless, I'm glad to hear it still exists and the same girl is still on it, as the girl on the "M-Life" channel, well I just find her performance a bit annoying. Nothing personal, nothing wrong with her, it's just that her delivery is more like a late night commercial/infomercial, whereas the 702 girl actually acts like a newsreporter, even though we all know it's just a bunch of commercials in reality.
Ya I life watching the Mlife channel, hell I even watch it when they upload a new one to youtube every month. Saying at a CET prop next trip, anyone know a channel name/number that's like the Mlife channel?
