Yesh, it's another one of us from WI! I've been reading for quite a while but never decided to post until now. I haven't made enough posts to get one of those awesome countdown clocks but I do have one on my phone and I'm happy to say that I only have 61 days 12 hours no minutes and 12 seconds until I land at McCarran once again!

I've pretty much given up on the local casino (Potowatomi) as I don't think any good can come from there any longer. I'll still probably go for bingo, but they'll get no other gambling action from me.

From my name it's obvious where I like to stay in the 702 :)

Welcome to the board Redrock. We are also one of those Wisconsinites. good call on giving up on Potowatomi, we gave up on them years ago. Everytime I think of going down there I kick myself in the A**, and put another hundred into the Vegas jar. We will be back at the end of May for 6 nights, and bringing my daughter who is a Vegas virgin, should be fun. GO PACKERS!

Welcome Redrock. You will love this site for all your Vegas questions. My wife and I will be visiting Vegas in a few months and this site is my required reading everyday to find out what is new. My wife and I visit Ho Chunk in the Dells frequently and find it to be a great casino. One more place you may wish to try.

Yea I hate the casino in Milwaukee not just cause they charge for beers while playing.

I'm actually contemplating doing the 6pm NY Day bingo session at the ol Pot today. I don't mind it for bingo, but for everything else, yeah, I'll stick to Las Vegas.

As for the no free alcohol, I am pretty sure they have an agreement with the city not to comp or give free alcohol as it would probably damage the bars and restaurants that depend on alcohol for their business.

As for this next trip in Feb, I'm totally stoked. Somehow I scored a mustang convertible for only 88.00 total (yes that's including tax, and it wasn't through priceline) for Monday through Friday. Now if only Red Rock would hurry up with their February room offers I'd be a happy camper.

I've probably been out to Las Vegas about 10 times total now, with the last 6 times happening in the last 2 years and I'm always still finding out new things to do as you can grow weary of the strip really fast.

I sometimes tend to treat Las Vegas like the WI State Fair and kinda eat my way through it. I don't mind the touristy places, but I'd much rather eat somewhere that's local that I can't get back in WI. Here's just a sampling of the places that I'm HOPING to get to on this next trip.

Hash House a Go-Go: (http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/) It's the first place I head to right after I pick up the rental car. Almost no better way to start a vacation than with Andy's Sage Fried Chicken Benedict.

Chocolate and Spice: (http://chocolatenspice.com/) Went here on my trip back in August and everything was really excellent. Everything from the egg salad, to the croisant to the nutella bomb makes me want to return. Megan Romano even came out and talked to me :)

Dom Demarcos: (http://domdemarcos.com/) This will be the 3rd pizza I will be trying in Las Vegas. I've done Due Forni and Settebello and didn't really care for either of them.

Honeysalt: (http://honeysalt.com/) Farm to table movement, yes please! And it's close to Red Rock :)

Eat: (http://eatdowntownlv.com/) Good times, simple food, for lovely people! The feeling of community Chef Nat promotes is amazing. I hope the food is that good too!

Gordon Ramsay: Gonna try Steak, the Pub & Grill, or Burgr. Occasionally watch the show(s) so gonna see if the food he produces is as good as the hype.

Meatball Spot: (http://www.meatballspot.com/) This just looks fun to try!

Fogo de Chao: (http://www.fogodechao.com/) Brazilian churrascaria? Yes Please!

Mix N Mac: (http://mixnmaconline.com/) Cheesy Yummy Goodness! I'm from WI, it'd be too hard to pass this up :)

Vintner Grill: (http://www.vglasvegas.com/) Conveniently located right across the street from Red Rock!

Leticias Mexican Cocina: (http://www.leticiascocina.com/) Only did really bad mexican in Vegas once. Thought this would be a big step up, but, I didn't see any chimichangas on the menu :(

I'm sure I could think of more but I don't want to make everybody hungry. And I know I can't even compete with the food posts made by Westie :)

I'm sure I'll probably start trying to most more!
