#1 Just bought new Kaspersky for 2013 ,should I uninstall 2012 before I put the 2013 disc in?

#2 I have Verizon dsl, when I called to say it's slowing a bit they sent me a new modem and told me to download Firefox . Firefox is faster but I cant connect to my verizon home page to check my email unless I go back into verizon internet explorer. Any ideas?? Please put into very simple terms if possible, thanks.

#1 no, you don't need to uninstall the old version. The updated version will take care of updating or removing the old files.

#2 what is showing up on Firefox when you try to access your Verizon site? Does that site have any pop-up window? Also download google chrome. Firefox is great but chrome is better. Internet explorer is awful.

Favorite browsers, like most favorites, is open to debate. I used Pale Moon, the 64-bit derivative of Firefox, as my main browser of choice, but I also use Chrome. Almost anything is better than IE!

Just in case you don't know, you can set any address as your homepage. In Firefox, type in the address of your Verizon mail page, and once there, go to Options/General and set it to "Use Current Page" for your new Home Page. Good luck!

    Thanks

Whats happening is that it flashes connecting and the circle keeps going around ,no pop up. I tried chrome also but pretty much the same, except it pops up a window that says error which i cant get rid of and i have to restart the computer.

What's the website address you are connecting to at verizon?

do either of these make a difference for you?

Otherwise you can try the following:

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
Now click the Clear now button.

Your PC may be infected with Malware\Spyware. Download Malwarebytes and run a scan and see what it finds.

I'm not sure what the linking policy is here, but you can easily find Malwarebytes via Google or Yahoo.

#1 > Using a free virus protection should be be sufficient. Virus protection is probably one of the few
products where the expression "You get what you pay for" does not apply.

Avast free or Microsoft Security Essentials.

I like Avast because it provides anti-spyware protection.

#2 > I would try the internet browser Chrome. The consensus is that it is the fastest browser available.

Is there an annual fee? Anti-virus companies usually give the great deal up front hoping that
customers will pay the annual fee.

I am guessing this is what was bought.

I am a MicroSoft Security Essentials person too. Just watch what you download, you can get viruses on anything, even a $$$ anti-virus.
