Planning my first trip to vegas, and we are staying 5 days . I have been reading how folks check in to there rooms then run to walgreens or walmart for supplies.

Is there any issue with the casino, as far as walking up to your room with 2 or 3 walmart bags full of booze and supplies ?

on my first trip I thought I had to hide the booze.... till i saw people walking through the hotel lobby with a 30 rack. Yeah nobody cares if you are taking booze or bags up to your room. We usually have a couple drinks in the room then take one for the road in case cocktail service is slow.
Now walking into the bar with your own 12 pack and drinking your own beers might be frowned upon.... but thats a whole nother situation....lol

I've never encountered a problem brings supplies to the room and I've never hidden it, I usually put the groceries with the luggage for the bell service to bring up. It's a good idea to add a case of bottled water to the supplies!

Dont Plan too much ... be spontaneous !

i remember i planned everything day by day on my first trip ... as soon as we got there all the plans went out the window.

we did maybe 1 or 2 things from the "plans"

I have been reading how folks check in to there rooms then run to walgreens or walmart for supplies.

Where are you gonna be staying ? location is everything.

    1. walgreens is by circus circus the other is across from City Center.

unless you have a car (or can afford a taxi) walmart is out of the question

never run into any issues. Like the 30 rack comment ive seen guying walking around with a 12 / 18 / 24 pack each .

i myself have made target runs and walked into the hotel without issue

The hotel should have no problem. We've had guys in our groups drinking cans of Bud Light on the casino floor right from the fridge in the room. I don't know of that's standard around town but I am sure the casino is less worried about your drinking especially if you're gambling.

I wouldnt say you have to hide it, but to be on the safe size, dont advertise it. Put the supplies in bags/coolers if you can.

I always get a 12 pack of Heineken on the way to the hotel, I have never had an issue with it. In April I brought a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka to my host. He told me to meet him down in the casino, so I had a bottle sitting beside me at a bank of slot machines. I got a few odd looks but no one said anything!

We've had a bottle of champagne while playing slots.

The cocktail waitress came around, 'Cocktails?'

I said we're ok and pointed to the champagne...she laughed.

I always pack extremely flexible ladies the evening into my suitcase on the way to my hotel room. Remember.........what happens in VEGAS.............LOL.

If ya get caught you can always say...."but officer, she's trying out for Cirque du Soleil and she's in training".

Check out the abc shops locations (pho mall, fashion mall) for decent prices in walking distance of some hotels.

Since we usually rent a car we stop at either Target or Walmart (both near the airport) for water, beer etc. before heading to our hotel. When we valet the car, we have the bellman take our supplies as well as our bags up to the room.

Been doing this for a long time and never a problem.

thanks for all the replies... looking pretty hard at the Monte Carlo. room price is more in line for wife . looks like they have a good poker room and sports book and close to aria and such, from what i have been reading. Think I will take the limo from airport they would stop for supplies, I would think.. wont they?

Do yourself a favor - skip the MC poker room and go next door to Aria. Best poker room in town. May even see poker royalty playing in Ivey's Room.

Also, I usually buy a black ABC handled shopping bag or two for $1.99 & tote my booze, etc. to the room. Don't like looking like a dirtbag walking through a fancy hotel with white plastic bags or half-racks in plain view.

    Just my $0.02.

The way I see it, if a Hotel like Palazzo can whack a Walgreens in its complex, they have no right to complain about their patrons bringing back supplies to their rooms. They wouldn't complain if you were hauling back to your room a Hugo Boss suit, Tiffany necklace or art works from the other over-priced shops in the precinct.

If you stay at Monte Carlo there is a CVS right out front of the place, an ABC store across the street and then across the street and down a little bit is a Walgreens... so you probably don't need to worry about having the limo stop for supplies on the way to the hotel.

Go with someone who's in the military and drive to Lackland AFB for tax-free alcohol and tobacco.

I knew that! Haha. Give me a break; I'm deployed and all the bases I'm looking at are in Arabic.
