I've gotten really silly about "lucky" clothing, etc.
If I wear an outfit and have a losy day gambling (and more so if it happens more than once), I can't wear that outfit again to the casino.
Conversely, if I win, I will want to wear the same clothing and jewelry again.
One time I had a manicure and won a Royal flush....I wore that polish again for several trips and kept winning (didn't last forever of course).
    Anyone else like this?
Maybe you have a lucky hat or charm or something?

I'm not superstitious at all. To me it's all about being at the right place at the right time, there's absolutely nothing I can do to change the outcome of a machine/table.

I am very superstitious! I have recently been playing a lot of .25 DDB Video Poker and I always sit at the same bar/machines when I get the chance. The most money I have pulled out of a bar has been at Caesars Palace at the small Sportsbook Bar. I love sitting there and watching games and ordering free drinks. One of my superstitions is to not gamble on the last day. I always lose! Being superstitious and having OCD is a very bad combo, but feels awesome when it works! My wife always has to play a certain red white and blue $1 slot when she sees one and have her favorite machine that she always seeks out at Harrahs, Gold Coast and at Primm Valley! She always hits on these three machines!

    I love Vegas!

I know how you feel about liking to go back to places where you win. I do that too. But sometimes you get surprised. A couple of months ago we were in Laughlin. We decided to stop at Edgewater. I don't think I'd ever won there. But this time luck was with me. I played deuces wild and got the 4 deuces twice on two different machines. So you never know.

After landing in Vegas my first meal is always the same. It doesn't matter where I get it but it's become a tradition to eat the same thing.
I also have to keep at least one $2.00 Bill in my wallet at all times. It used to be a $1 coin but now it's up to $2.00! Inflation I guess haha!

I didn't think I was superstitious at all, but I guess I am, because I play the same bar-top VP machine in the same casino (Hard Rock of course) EVERYTIME and one day it's gonna give me that Royal!!!!

As a craps player, I will only play if I can place my pass line bet on the first S in the word PASS on the table. It limits me to 4-8 spots available, but it has become so second nature to me, that I don't even realize that I'm doing it anymore. It was a buddy who I always play craps with that pointed out my idiosyncracy.

I am not superstitious whatsoever. I am extremely analytical of everything - I have work experience in IT and am very much into mechanical and hands on things so I am always curious about how things work and function. I perhaps should also mention I am not religious at all and do not believe in anything supernatural or a higher power. I think these factors are what lead me to have absolutely no superstition but more or less I am always thinking of odds or calculating them for that matter (I am a poker, craps, and BJ player with the occasional sporadic slot play). I love pretty much all forms of gambling but realize that I am going to have to be in the right place at the right time for chance games.

P.S. - I am not criticizing being superstitious in any way shape or form just stating my perspective of gambling.

I won't say that on the Superstition-o-Meter I'm pegged all the way over left because we're all human and even if only in the dark unknown recesses of the gray stuff, we all perform/behave in a way that is superstitious.

But on the conscious level, no, I'm not superstitious. I prefer to sit first or third at a table for comfort, but have taken all spots between over the years. I always play DDB except when I'm playing Jacks. Certainly I get bummed out after getting hand after hand of 10 high or four to the royal, but I'm as apt to stay on that machine as leave. I believe hot/cold is no more than a function of menopause, weather patterns and/or whomever is in charge of the thermostat in the casino. The habit of our Vegas visits is a combo of faves and change, and no hard-fast schedules.

It works for us. Can't and shouldn't work for all.

I am superstitious! I won a 2012 silver American Eagle once from a Facebook contest and I carried that coin around with me for about the next six months after & I won at almost everything I did, playing poker with my buddies I won & then we went to Vegas & I had a really good trip winning money, of course my luck ran out after about six months. I also carry a $2 bill in my wallet and 4 aces and they seem to have brought me good luck.

so do you still carry the American Eagle?
after I won several trips in a row wearing my "magic" nail polish, my luck changed and I was freed from wearing it.
Then several months later, I decided to give it another shot. My luck came back. So I'll be wearning it again next trip.

We're a baseball/softball family of course I'm superstitious! If there were chalk lines to enter the casino I would step over them.

It's why I don't play WOF; I like to count the beep-boop-beep-boop noise to a number that suits me before I hit the spin button. It irritates my neighboring players who have often told me - "you have to press the button", which means I have to start counting again. :rolleyes2:

I get superstitious about music too - I think it has to do with years of walk-up songs & entrance songs- if some casino would just play Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Korn or Metallica that would be awesome but if they play U2 I am outta there, U2 is bad luck.

I'm superstitious but it's more about "bad signs" and "jinxes" (like when "that one guy" comes to the table and I know he just sucked up the mojo).

Many of my rituals and superstitions are just to enhance the entertainment value of my play. I'll hide behind my chair, cover my eyes, do sacred chants and dances . . . all kinds of stupid crap.

    HAHA! Be my friend!

I'm superstitious about music too. "Holy crap! They're playing 'Rebel Yell', I better bet hard!"

And with the special chips I will ALWAYS stack them so that Michael Bolton, Bette Midler, Cher, and Nickleback are face down on the very bottom. If I got an Ozzy chip, that bad boy is going on top!

I will even ask for different chips if I get stuck with a loser and it's my last one.

"Excuse me, Ma'am, can you trade this one for a new one? Josh Groban is gonna mess up my hand!"

Not so much with luck underwear, socks or hat, but do believe more in karma and do on to others.

A buddy of mine says he has a lucky condom he carries around but that is a story for another time. :wink2:

playing BJ it is fun to kill time by "twisting" your stack (you have a stack because you are on a heater) so that the designs on the side of the chips make patterns of various identity; staircase, checkerboard, etc. You have to be there to understand.....but look next time at the chips when stacked....you can arrange patterns....good karma......get on the spaceship opie......

I start out every trip with a speedy meal of French toast at a Denny's and my first wager is always $5 on 22 at a roulette table. This was what I did on my first LV excursion in the 80s and it has not varied one iota in the 50+ trips I've taken there since.....Crazy huh?:peace:
