MyVegas Will MGM let me use Dad's comped drinks?

So, my dad got some comped drinks from the MyVegas game because he had extra loyalty. He will be leaving Vegas as I arrive. We will see each other at the airport just passing through. Now, my dad doesn't drink so he wants to just give me the comp slip in passing. Can he do this or do you think the hotel will not honor it?

 

Doubtful, the comp will either be loaded on his card or he will be given a paper comp with his name and card number. In eaither case they will want to see ID when it is redeemed.

 

I dont know anything about the site/comps your dad earned online but, 1. Who pays for drinks in a Vegas casino? Put a $20 in a VP machine and get a free drink. Hell you can even just put a $1 bill in a penny machine and play 1 cent at a time like the 4 300lb ladies that sat down next to me yesterday, just dont be like them and not tip even a dollar between them cause the cocktail waitress wont be back if you do that. And 2. Sometimes drink comp tickets don't even have a name on them. The MGM Grand used to give $20 bar coupons at check in (last year). They had no names or anything on them, you just gave it to the bartender and it was worth $20 in bar credit. One time when I checked in the lady gave me about 15 of them and I had no problem using multiple ones at each bar.

 

Thank you, same thought. If you care enough about schemes to get a free drink in Vegas to start a thread about it, perhaps Vegas isn't for you.

 

Appleman, I am not an expert on the MyVegas comps, but I do know that if your father already has the coupon you are most likely stuck since it has his name on it, and they will most likely check it.

If he has just redeemed it online, it can be cancelled if 90 days has not elapsed since he "bought" it with the loyalty points.

If he hasnt redeemed the points yet, or if you cancelled the point redemption try redeeming it in your name. Then the coupon can be redeemed at Mlife under your account.

As others have said, it seems a shame to waste comps on drinks when there is so many opportunities for free ones in Vegas. Depending on how many points you have, you might be better off getting some buffets or something.

They are for the top shelf absinthe at Aria. I got a glass last year and I believe it was $25 each for the French absinthe. They won't comp this regularly.

 

To clarify, when I say MGM I mean the resort group not the hotel.
