I am going to be redeeming some myvegas points for a free buffet.

I can choose between Mirage or Monte Carlo Buffet. Since I haven't been to either one I would love opinions on either one or both.

    Thanks :peace:

Have done both ( albeit a few years ago). Mirage by a country ( ANY country for that matter) mile.

I've stayed at the mirage and therefor have eaten there a lot over the past 6 years. I ate at the Monte Carlo once this past march and I was pleasantly surprised. I think I would prefer it over the mirage. Except I was at Monte Carlo last week and they are remodeling the buffet so there is a temporary one set up in a ballroom. I didn't eat there so I can't say how it was this time

I was at both, I would chose Mirage. They make your salad for you and it's NICE. Mirage is a, well, nicer hotel, and the buffet is also.

    Mirage.

    Next question.

I actually really like the Mirage buffet. I've eaten there for breakfast and dinner and both meals were great. One caveat, DON'T EAT THE CHILI. The only bad thing about the Mirage buffet was the greasy, disgusting chili. Seriously, yuck. Other than that there were no issues at all.

I ate at the Monte Carlo buffet just last week for dinner. It was alright, but nothing special. Also, it's currently being remodeled, so it's located temporarily in a big conference hall. I don't think it made a difference in the food, but it was a little awkward eating in there like that. There was hardly anyone there though, so it was nice to not have to wait in line.

I thought the MC buffet was pretty bad as far as LV buffets go. Definitely choose the Mirage.

forgot to mention theres LOTS of room at cravings.

meaning the buffet is like the long line of food instead of a bunch of rows.

its starts from the entrance all the way to the back and cut the corner back to the front. Its nice and really good

Haven't try Monte Carlo's yet, but we were at Cravings @ Mirage for dinner in November.

The salad bar is the best. The guy who tossed the salad was funny and the salad is delicious. However, crab legs were frozen. They were pretty icy and the dessert station was horrible.

I also used the MyVegas buffet rewards and it took a while to redeemed it and the cashier was clueless. I think it will be better now.

I will echo people's sentiments about the MC buffet.

Not great. Run of the mill.

No opinion on the MC buffet. I thought Mirage was mediocre. In all fairness it was slightly post lunch, so the selection were slim. I will say that the Prime Rib was good.

I think that Cravings at The Mirage is the most under-rated buffet in Las Vegas. It has been consistently great every time I have eaten there.

    Mirage.
If going for the brunch; don't forget to ask for champagne.

Mirage 100%. I ate at the Monte Carlo buffet once and it was one of my worst Vegas dining experiences. Mirage is one of the better buffets on the strip.

    Glad I found this thread.
Not many eating choices left on MyVegas rewards, so I chose the Mirage buffet, Cravings, for my next trip.
Looks like I made a great choice!

Going for dinner to get my money's worth! :licklips:

5 of my last 6 vegas stays have been at these two hotels. I only eat brunch at buffets -- I feel like there's no comparison. Mirage is better, and as someone mentioned, I think it's perhaps the most underrated buffet on the strip. Is it as good as Wynn or Bellagio? Absolutely not. But it's better than most.
