    Just a quick question:

If I sit down at a bar in a casino (that normally charges for drinks), but play the Video Poker machine there, do drinks become free? Thanks!

    Yes and no.

There are bars at Wynn that do not comp drinks while playing video poker. And some bars ask you to play max coins to receive a free drink.

You can always ask the bartender as well. They will be more than happy to tell you the house rules.

As mentioned, everywhere but a couple snooty places comp you no problem.

Just tip the bartenders and you can stay all day in pretty much any place..playing max and occasional slow play mixed in..Just have the red displayed when ordering or being watched..The bartenders need a reason (If questioned by supers)to give you x amount of drinks per hour and max play is what does it.
People that put in a $20 and play a few quarter spins, get drinks and leave cashing out a $19 TITO become invisible next trip to that bar..and the bartenders can read upside down as the machine displays the last payout..

Disclaimer - My info is based on years of Bartop VP experience, not personal actual trials and errors..:poker::thumbsup:

Tipping is all you need to do. I usually tip a little more to the bartenders than I do to the cocktail waitresses.

Please remember, bartenders have rules that are enforced in many places. They have cameras on them at all times. I'm not saying that a tip doesn't help but don't get mad if they don't look the other way.

One of my best friends was a bartender at the Plaza for many years and he told me that he hates it when people try to trick him. His recommendation was to always ask the bartender what the requirements are.

Very true! Not to mention that type of "behavior" is what causes rules to potentially change. I see that type of BS a lot...

    My thoughts

I only play .25 cent VP at the bars. I always play max bet ($1.25) and I have never been charged for Drink. Even top shelf drinks at some places. I have not tries Wynn but heard they don't.

If you tip the bar tender they will keep the drinks coming.

    Have a great time.

Most if not all of the strip vp bars want at least $20 in and max coin to comp drinks. I've seen this happen. People putting $ in, getting a drink, tipping a buck, playing one hand, cashing out, then when they come back to try again, they're asked to run the $20 through the game first.

But if you're their to stay and play you'll have no problem.

Ridiculous to jump through hoops to get a free drink, I've done exactly that(bought in, intending to get a free drink and leave), many times I'm still there a half hour later, I'm either ahead and cant leave, or am trying to get even. The point is that the drink was free.

Thx all, will definitely try bar VP on my upcoming trip. The drinks seem nicer than those served by the cocktail waitresses...
