This may be a silly question since on their website it says that they do have in room safes but I also read from reviewers that their room didn't have a safe..so what's the dealio?

They do have safes. But there is a $3/daily fee for them. I don't know how many people actually pay for using it as it's waived for Diamonds and the check out clerk my last stay wiped it out on my last visit.

Its a legacy thing from previous ownership. Have no idea why they still have the fee.

I've had some utterly low room rates at Bally's this year, recently as low as $15/nt. with no required additional fees. So if I needed to use the safe and they want to charge $3/day to use the safe, I could hardly complain.

I believe my north tower room in 2011 had the safe; didn't use it so I can't confirm charges

I had a COMP room and still they took $3 a day out of credits for the damned safe. I was kinda pissed about it honestly. I have stayed at nearly every Caesars property on the strip and never had this happen. Its a Ballys only thing, I just didnt know until checkout.

My rooms have been comped for years and have never paid for a safe at CP, Paris or Bally's in either tower. Can't say I remember staying in a room without a safe for a long time now.

Have stayed in both towers at Ballys and always had a safe. Rooms have been comped and have never been charged for the safe either.

I just usually leave $2 for housekeeping, and have never been charged for the safe. Maybe they pocket the tip, and don't log that I'm using it.

That is what I had heard as well, no charge if its COMP. I was checking out and the guy asked if the safe worked, I said yes it did. He said great, $3 per night! I asked him if he could COMP it, he just walked away from the desk, then returned and said I needed to pay up or he would take out of my rewards $$. He was a real jerk about it!

I stayed there last week and can confirm that the safe IS in the room and it DOES have a little sign on it saying daily fee (I can't remember the exact charge, but $3 sounds right).

I never used it. I don't really trust those things anyway.

Just reach around the back of the safe at the base and unplug the phone cord that is connected to the safe. You will not be charged the $3 per day and the safe will work just fine.

Thanks for the tip. I might be staying at Ballys this upcoming trip and hope I remember about the phone cord to the safe!

Just disconnecting the wire that alerts the hotel the safe is being used, not disconnecting the safe itself. Kinda like back in the day when you used to be able to do the same trick with the direct TV when ordering pay per view.
