I do so cherish my solo trips! Here are some of my fav things to do while solo:

    1. An early morning drive on the strip from Tropicana to downtown and back. Then go on about my day.

    2. Try new restaurants far away from the tourist path. There are some hidden dining gems in the valley.

    3. Deciding what, when and where without opposition or debate.

    1. Sleep very late.
    2. Stay up very late.
    3. Drink whenever, wherever, and whatever I want.
    4. People watch.
    5. Enjoy long afternoons in the spa even to the point of falling asleep.
    6. Beat the living shit out of the casinos, and in particular the small ones such that they have 3-4 bosses sweating my action!

    1. Shoot the dice
    2. Eat like a king
    3. Drink for free
    4. Meet women (hopefully not the working kind)

Next time renting a car & seeing the dam, some off-strip places, and maybe the racetrack and an exotic car rental will be on the agenda.

    Everything

but especially exploring the town from the strip, downtown, off-strip, Henderson, etc...There is no way any person I have ever traveled to vegas with would be interested in these adventures! Their ideas of a vacation include sleeping in a hotel room. The End. lol

And pretty much gamble at any hour...my people do not gamble and any time I play more than 15 minutes or visit the casino more than once in a day, they freak out and start lecturing...and I laugh. lol solo it is.

Anything I can't convince my friends to do on non joint trips.

And anything I usually do alone anyway (like poker)

I like the fact that there are no judgemental comments when I order the same in-room porno four times in succession.

I gamble way more on a solo trip than when I'm with others. I suspect most people here do the same. When I go with buddies there's a decent amount of clubbing, sports book, strip clubs, and pool if the weather permits. When I go with my girlfriend she's pretty good about me spending a lot of time gambling but there still has to be lengthy proper meals at different restaurants and at least a show or two and some "sightseeing". When I'm alone I love to just gamble, eat quickly on awfully unhealthy but delicious cheap food, and leer at all the girls in miniskirts. Vegas is a great solo traveling destination, at least if you like to gamble in my opinion.

    * Pinball Hall of Fame. With the wife I can only spend an hour there. Alone? Well, last time it was four hours (hey, I kept winning free games on Star Trek: The Next Generation)

    * Taking the back roads to get places. Almost never drive the Interstate when I'm travelling solo.

    * Chain smoking. Don't judge me.

Basically do whatever I want whenever I want. The best part of going solo though is you can feel free to roam the casino at your own pace or visit other casinos and not have to worry about having to stick to the pack mentality that occurs when you are with other people. Vegas is fun with pals, but if I just want to gamble I want to be alone......:peace:

Solo trips are my preferred way to visit Vegas now, although my wife is fun to go with because she understands my need to gamble.
Each solo trip I try to do something that stretches my personal boundaries. Such as going to a show alone, eating in the middle of a busy restaurant alone, or making the effort to meet people, it all leads to new fun experiences and ultimately a better trip report.
I enjoy the freedom to do as I please, sometimes I'll be on the strip and just get a wild hair on my ass to go to the boulder strip. This is the freedom I enjoy.
As much as I love my wife and my friends, I need some alone time to recharge and just think about things. Some days on solo trips I have the want to talk and socialize with people around me, other days I want a beer and a bartop VP and only the sounds of slot machines and far off craps yells.

Being alone for 7 or 8 days makes me realize how important the people in my life are and what it would be like without them, it's important to realize this.

I have my next solo trip starting Jan 20th, can't friggin wait
