Anyone know which MLife casinos have Blackjack Switch? I really enjoy playing it when I play at the MGM Grand Detroit here in Michigan, but I've never played it on one of my Vegas trips. It can lead to a lot of interesting strategy discussions/arguments at the table which I find to be fascinating. If you've never gambled in Detroit, you should know that they are probably some of the most opinionated gamblers in the country here. I'll be staying at the Mirage in a couple of days, but I don't think I've seen it there. I know Casino Royale across the street is loaded up with BJ Switch tables, but I like to stick to MGM properties. Also, for rating purposes, would playing $15 for each hand of BJ Switch be about the equivalent of playing regular BJ at $30 per hand? Anyone know how that works?
I know happy's has at least 1 table of it. It doesn't always run though mostly at night and on weekends. Cannot help you on how they rate your play.
I can't talk about the rating of the play but I know Monte Carlo, MGM and Mandalay Bay had the game when I was there back in October. You're right it's a fun game with lots of talk about what you should or should not do
Nice to see a fellow Michigander on the board. Originally from the Flint area here and have spent a good amount of time in the Detroit casinos so I know what you mean about opinionated and unfortunately sometimes just ignorant. Have seen players playing on Blackjack tables for the sole purpose of winning the bonus bets instead of the Blackjack hand but don't get me started lol. I am a TR guy but did spend sometime playing Blackjack switch last year at Luxor and Mirage, but this was last January so it's been a while.
Oh trust me, I know. If you're at a Perfect Pairs table and you're not playing, they get hostile. One guy literally told me Perfect Pairs is "the best bet in the casino," and me not playing it was "a slap in the face to everyone who was." I didn't bother attempting to explain that MGM Grand Detroit's Perfect Pairs has a house edge of 5.79% whereas their blackjack games have a 0.57% house edge.
You are going to have to elaborate. The Wizard says it has the same house edge as an averaged ruled regular blackjack game. And you are doing good these days to find an averaged ruled black jack game.
MGM had a couple $10 tables the last time I was there. As you know, but others reading this thread in the future may not, a $10 minimum is effectively a $20 table as you must play the minimum on each of your hands.
Played it all up and down the strip yesterday. MGM Grand - saw two tables, both $10 minimums. Lost $100 here. :/ Mandalay Bay - one table in one pit was $15, one in another was $10. Didn't play here. Luxor - saw one open table for $10 minimum. Didn't play here. Excalibur - saw one open table for $5 minimum. Played here for a bit. Lost $40. NYNY - saw one open table here, $5 minimum! Played here for a bit and had the best luck of the night. Made most of the money I lost back. Monte Carlo - one table, $10 minimum. Didn't play. Mirage - two tables, varied between $10-$15. Funny story, when I checked in at The Mirage I looked for these tables and only one was open. There was only one guy playing, at a $500 table minimum!! I thought, "well if that's the minimum, I'm screwed." He must have really wanted that table for himself! As for rating, I played a bit at both Mirage and MGM and got rated at both at $10/hand (which is really like $20 per hand). So clearly their normal $25 blackjack rating rule doesn't apply. Checked my MLife site and my tier credits reflect my play.
