550.00 free play

So I received a pretty good offer from Paris for free 3-night stay and 550.00 in free play. I chose to get this credit on slots. What would be the best way to play this to try to get the most return, $5, $1, penny slots?

 

I know many people look for a big hit, and play it $5/$10 machines. I always just try for turning it into even cash, or close to it. So I pick $1 JOB VP to play my free play on. I've done this many times, and usually come close to getting it all turned into cash. I had that exact same amount at Flamingo in March and I believe I ended up a little over $550.

Personally, I look at slot play as cash. Play it wherever you think it will work the best. And, as soon as somebody has a system for slots, let me know.

 

VP does seem pretty good for transferring FP to cash, but some places seem to limit what machines you can play it on and sometimes it's hard to find VP in that pool of machines.

This is very true. I had $750 FP at Paris. Unfortunately every VP machine I tried wouldn't accept my vouchers. I ended up playing slots and turned it into TITO's worth about $450 and used that on the VP machines. Of course, you can cash them in but I'm there to gamble anyway.

 

You should be able to play VP with your free play. If the machine balks at that, ask for help. VP is the best way to turn your $550 into something resembling $550 in cash. Run through it once and you'll likely still have at least $400 you can take at cash. And you might come out way up with quads or a Royal. I'd play $1 machine, ($5 per spin).

But if you want to go for a jackpot, I'd find a $5 slot (probably 2 credits per spin) with jackpots from $10,000 to $25,000. You probably will get to stay at the machine for a long time with the smaller paybacks and have a reasonable chance to hit something big.

 

If allowed, I think the best return would be on video roulette. All in the same spin, bet 47% of the amount on red, 47% of the amount on black, 3% on single 0 and 3% on double 00. If black or red hit, you'll get 94% of the free play, if 0 or 00 hit you'd get 105% of the free play.

 

If you're just looking to turn this into cash, you should have taken table game vouchers and played BJ. Although I believe that CET will only give you 10 vouchers maximum, so the denomination may have been 5 - $100 vouchers and 1 - $50 voucher. Not sure since that's such a random amount.

If you aren't comfortable with table games, you should heed the advice above. On video roulette (if the vouchers are accepted) you can guarantee yourself 94% of that $550, but that's all you'll get. 9/6 JOB video poker will most likely at a minimum pay you out the majority of that FP in cash, but with the possibility of hitting something big. So you give up a little safety for the potential big payoff.

 

I second video blackjack. I usually play dollars and bet $1.00 a few times and then do max a few times (usually until I lose). I always find that it goes in cycles. If you find one with a "let it ride" that is always fun.
