My wife and I have a comped room at the MGM Grand over Valentines Day weekend (Feb 14-17). We are hoping to come back for a week in May at either the Bellagio or the Aria. So far the Bellagio has been super stingy with offers for us.

When we are in Las Vegas on an MGM comp (assuming we don't care that[ much/I] about staying at the MGM again, what is the best way to get comps for Aria/Bellagio? My wife says just play at the MGM and Aria will notice and give us offers. I say to ignore the MGM and give Aria most of our play. What is the right way?

Play in the HL room if you play slots and try to lose as much as you can.
    And I am not joking.

You'll get offers from where you play. While you might annoy your MGM host, playing at Aria during your next stay would give you better offers from them than simply continuing to play at MGM. I would suggest contacting a host once you've got some decent play at Aria and speaking to them.

You get offers from properties that you play at. Not sure what your level of play is, but about the only time I get offers from other properties is my M Life corporate offers. But from personal experience, it takes Aria forever to start sending out offers once you have given them some play, so you do probably want to contact a host there when ready to book - after you have given them some play.

Last fall MLife changed their program so that your point and offer earning was less "as a whole" centric and more property specific.

So in order to get good offers from Bellagio or Aria you now pretty much have to play at Bellagio or Aria. If you keep playing at MGM Grand you might pick up the occasional offer from Aria or Bellagio as corporate offers, but to get the good ones you have to play there and pretty much give them a good portion of your play.

For whatever reason my offers are still the same across Mlife properties. I've been staying and playing exclusively at Aria my past two stays (booked through a host if it makes a difference). My play has increased and my offers have gone up but it's the same across Mlife properties.

If you are getting decent offers at other MGM properties, you should call Aria and ask if the can match. In reality, Aria and Bellagio are top tier and offers are tighter, most of the time.

Play at MGM. After the trip, call a host at B and ask them what they can do based on your recent play.

as most have said, you'll need to play where you want offers in the MGM world.. Start playing at Aria and Bellagio.

Totally not true. I haven't played at Mirage in 3 years. I've made my last four trips to NYNY, then Monte Carlo 3 times. My Monte Carlo offer for my next trip wasn't great, so I called a host at Mirage. He beat my Monte Carlo offer.

But you're going to have to call and ask.

But you did play at the Mirage before, which can make a big difference, and I think the OP was talking about promotional offers rather than going through a host.

Regardless, it so depends on who you talk to. I called up MGM Grand marketing department one time to ask to speak to a host and they told me that if I didn't already have one I can't speak to one. Never experienced that before. I called up Aria having played an hour there and had previously gone to the host office and met a host there. He offered me casino rate. I get comped rooms at Bellagio and I didn't even get one night comped at Aria. I still went, got everything comped, and switched hosts. :Þ And like I said previously, my marketing offers are the same across the board for whatever reason and I get offers at Luxor and I am 100% sure I didn't show my card there ever.

But the last time I played at Mirage, I didn't have a host, and I didn't play above green chip. He comped me based on my play at the other property. And I had no usable marketing offers from anyone.
