Please, help me pick my "home" rewards program/property!

Hey everyone! Been a longtime reader of these great boards and contributed a trip report and video here and there. I'd love to get some advice from you, if possible!

I have somehow found myself getting free room and/or play offers from 3 major properties on the Strip: Wynn/Encore (+$300 FP), Venetian/Palazzo (+$50-100 FP), and Cosmopolitan (No FP). On my last trip, my play was split about 85-10-5, respectively, between these three casinos, hence, the probable reason for the larger FP offer from Wynn.

I am actually a bit surprised that I am still receiving offers from Grazie, considering that I DID get a 3-night stay there on my last trip yet gambled seemingly little. For the record, my budget is $1500-$2000 over 3-days for the average trip.

I have decided, though, that on my next trip which will be coming up very soon, I will focus the vast majority of my play at one casino and have minor play at one other casino so I can continue to get room offers that I can use for family when they come along. I need help on picking which casino I should focus my play! Perhaps any of you can help me pick one based on some facts about me below!


Average Gambling Budget over 3 Nights: $1500-$2000
Primary Game: Slot Machines about 85% - Max Bettor, Love the Pennies (I know, terrible! lol)
Secondary Game: Blackjack about 14% ($25-$50 bet/hand)
Tertiary Game: Craps about 1% (Still learning!)

Also: I love being invited to Slot Tournaments!


Primary Concerns:

• Does the property offer Slot Tournaments?
• In terms of comps/rooms, I would like to get the best bang for the buck. For example, will my $2000 budget get me further in terms of room/play offers at Wynn, Venetian, or Cosmo?
• Location of casino is not terribly important to me since I usually rent a car but would like to stay on Strip
• I like the rooms to have large bathrooms with high-pressure showers.
• I love playing all of the newest slot machines, especially ones based off popular franchises.
• Getting a good amount of free slot play (in addition to room offer) for future visits are very important to me.

Current offers (and pros/cons) from these three casinos:

So far Wynn has been my "home" casino but I am thinking that I can get better offers from the other two.

Wynn: $50k Slot Tournament w/ 2-Nights and 2 VIP Buffet Passes OR 3-Nights and $300 Free Slot Play

PROS:

• Best Rooms for Me
• $300 Free Play Offer
• Friendly Staff
• Regular offers for Slot Tournaments

CONS:

• Lack of newer slots, favorite ones
• Sometimes high table limits
• Sometimes snooty clientele (just a nitpick LOL)
• Relatively expensive food options

Venetian: $25k Slot Tournament w/ X-Nights OR 3-Nights and $75-100 Free Slot Play plus a Special Offer (Dinner for two, Free Towel, etc.)

PROS:

• Nice Rooms, not the best.
• $50-100 Free Play Offer, nice considering how little I play there.
• Excellent selection of slot games, including latest and greatest.
• Nice selection of good value restaurants
• Very large casino floor.
• Regular offers for Slot Tournaments

CONS:

• Casino Smell

Cosmopolitan: 2-Free Nights Sun-Thurs (Surprised I even got this offer considering how relatively little I played there)

PROS:

• Wicked Spoon: Best Brunch Buffet EVER
• They seem to have the BEST selection of slots--always have the noobs.
• Nice casino atmosphere, second to Planet Hollywood.
• Location on Strip

CONS:

• I haven't yet stayed on property. (Not necessarily a con)
• Relatively small casino floor, but "cozy"

If anyone suggests anything different, I am all ears and eyes!

 

in my opinion i would stay at the place with the best offer for this trip.. Which seems to be wynn.. Play vp and get as much of your free play back and then go play at a middle tier m life place.. Mirage or NYNY.. Your money will go further at these places than wynn.. or the other two mentioned.. Just bc you take advantage of this offer doesnt mean you have to play at that casino...

 

Off the top of my head... without completing the "homework-LOL", I would consider making MGM your home. You might get some nice offers with one good visit.

 

Since you play slots, I would recommend Total Rewards. They are known to comp slot players generously. They also have 8 casinos which means there are more slot tournaments to be invited to.

Keep in mind that comps are usually given out more generously in the beginning to attract you back and build some loyalty, therefore you may not be getting 3-night/$300FP offers from Wynn much longer. On the other hand, you will always be able to get room comps/slot tournaments with your budget within the TR program.

 

Hi all! Thank you very much for your input! I was thinking about going back to TR or mLife but despite some heavy play at their casinos in the past, and actually sticking to just a casino or two in their armada, I never really received the "awesome" offers that I get at say, the Wynn--perhaps they have changed.

In addition, after being spoiled at places like the Wynn and Venetian, I'm afraid I'm going to have to be a hypocrite and be snooty about the room quality lol. I think that I'd only be able to stay at properties like Caesar's and PH for TR resorts and Bellagio/Mandalay/Aria for mLife. And furthermore, at least for TR properties, I've felt that their slot selection has been comparatively weak, even when going up against the Wynn. But ya'll are definitely right that mLife and TR probably will give me the most bang for the buck!

@Bamfbowhunter: I can't play VP for the life of me lol. I tried to learn some basic strategy and what not but just can't seem to get the hang of it. In addition, the game just feels a bit monotonous to me--I suppose I don't find it super fin like I do the slots. I know for sure that the only way to get my offer back in the future from Wynn is to play at a similar level that I did to get to that point in the first place but it's most certainly difficult! I think my coin-in to get the offer was $6000-$9000 after all is said and done.

@boo: I guess I've been pretty lucky with Wynn as I have been getting at least 3-Nights Comp + at least $300 in Free Play every time I have visited Vegas over the last 2-3 years but as mentioned above, I have always played at or better than my previous visit, with a coin in of $6k-9k. Looking back, I'm actually surprised that I am able to stretch $1.5-2k that far lol.


Anyway, again, thank you for your suggestions of going back to TR/Mlife---I'll have to think about that! The idea staying at the Bellagio again with a fountain view room is VERY enticing. I can sit in that room all night and watch the shows!

 

That's awesome ssfblue. I thought that Wynn offer was the first but it looks like you're doing very well with Wynn. I understand how you feel about being spoiled by the nicer rooms haha. I took up Cosmo on their offers four times before my unworthy play caught up and was cut off but I miss those rooms.
