Have some questions about Gold Nugget, my husband and myself have been going to Vegas for many years but never stayed at the Gold Nugget. Would maybe like to try it in 2013. Have some questions.
We would like to stay in the Gold Tower Deluxe Room we need 2 separate beds and I believe other than the Carson Tower this is the only other room with 2 seperate beds. I was wondering which tower the gold Tower Rooms are located? I am also interested if these rooms are away from the Fremont St noise, and are these rooms on the higher floors I like to stay up as high as possible and maybe have a view. I know I am asking alot of questions, but I knew this message board would have the answers.
    Thanks

    Golden Nugget Rooms

If you are interested in quiet and a view, the Carson tower may be your best bet. It's the farthest from Fremont Street, and the back side of it faces south so you have a (distant) strip view. Trade off is a long walk to your room. Both the gold tower and the new Rush tower are closer to Fremont.

We've stayed at the Golden Nugget several times, always in the Carson Tower rooms, most recently a couple of weeks ago for five nights. We asked for a quiet room with a view and were given a top-floor room facing the strip. It was very nice and pretty quiet (there's still a little noise from the surrounding streets). The mattress was particularly comfortable. They must take pride in that since there was a little ad on the nightstand about how you could buy one. Even the Carson Tower rooms have niceties such as robes and a make-up table outside the bathroom. We've never been disappointed, but we're not nitpickers either.

On the other hand, if I don't like a room when I check in, I go back, articulate my concern, and ask for another. Haven't had to do this at the Nugget, but probably do it more often than not elsewhere. I'm polite and (I think) reasonable about my concerns, and, space available, have always been accommodated.

    Gold Tower Rooms

The Gold Tower is right off the main lobby - very close to the casino floor! We have only stayed in the Gold Club rooms and Rush Tower so I can't answer about the 2 beds - however, for convenience, I really like the Gold Club rooms! You can hear Fremont Street if you are on that side so ask to be on the other side. I think you'll like it!

Yes the Carson and the Gold rooms are the only ones with two beds.

The advantages to the Gold tower rooms are that they are right off the lobby, close to the casino, and no time Share hawkers close to the elevators.

Requesting a room away from Fremont does help.

I have been told that there are 2 rooms in the Rush tower that have two beds, but when I once requested one, I was told it could not be guaranteed.

I stayed in the Gold tower on my trip last week. We had 2 beds in the room (i think they are full size beds not queen) and the room and the bathroom were definately smaller than anything i stayed in on the strip.

We didnt notice any major noise from freemont street. We stayed on the 7th floor on the side of the hotel where the lobby is.

    Hi,

As others said the Gold Tower is possibly the best located when you want to be close to the casino. However it is directly off the Freemont Street experience. But Ive never been bothered by it in my room.

The Gold Tower is smoke free afaik (at least has smoke free floors) and has rooms with two queen beds. These are pretty good, only the TVs are a bit dated (still flat screen but quality sucks). There is a coffee maker in the room but costs you 10 bucks.

Do NOT get a Gold Club room which are the top floors. These are king size single bed only. If you are ok with single bed then yes.

Since December they have a new Gold Club room in the Rush tower that features two beds. I will be staying in one over New Years Eve. On the GN website look for Rush Tower Gold Club Rooms.

We stayed in the Rush tower and paid an extra fee to get a guarantee for the Room with 2 beds and also the adjoining room. Left the adjoining door open in between the rooms the whole stay and it was great.

Not quite true. The Rush tower has a FEW rooms with 2 beds. The Rush tower rooms are amazing, you just can't reserve 2 beds... It's on availability. Having said that the three times we stayed there we've always had two beds.

Yep, the Rush tower is the place to be. Love the casino at The Golden Nugget. Great customer service too.

I would say if you sit at Claudes after 11pm you will most likely be approached 9 out of 10 times.

I would say there are less hookers at the GN than most places in vegas. I mean if you are a hooker, where are you gonna go to make money?? The strip or DT?? I was approached no less than 5 times on the strip my tiime before last in Vegas, but last April DT, I cant even say I saw one. ALso if you are alone, they are more apt to approach you than if you are with others or especially with the significant other!
