My birthday is this weekend and I'm going to be in Vegas from late Saturday night to Wednesday evening. Coming solo, I haven't done a huge amount of planning, though I have here several times so I'm not too worried about that. Aside from making my flights and checking in at the hotel, the only firm event I have planned is The Addams Family musical at the Smith Center on Sunday afternoon.

I'm not a huge gambler, but I am setting aside some funds for each day. Probably I'll just use that money for hit-and-run gambling at odd moments during the day.

Other things I'm looking at doing is The Chuck Jones Experience and the North Outlet Mall. That leaves several days open for whatever strikes my fancy.

So here are some miscellaneous questions:

    1) I'm staying at Aria. If I wanted to spend a few quiet moments at one of Aria's bars enjoying a decent cocktail, which would be a good one?

    2) Does Aria have any lesser-known shortcuts for getting around. I've been in there before (I saw Viva Elvis earlier this year) and the place is disorienting.

    3) I'd like to see one burlesque-ish show while there. I'm leaning towards Fantasy or Peepshow. Pros/cons for either?

    4) As a Canadian, I find dollar coins to be ridiculously convenient compared to dollar bills. If I wanted to just get a roll, where would be the best place to get them - Bank? Casino cashier? Other?

    5) Any places showing the Grey Cup on Sunday?

Anyway, thanks to anyone that answers. None of these are of earth-shattering importance, but it would still be nice to know.

I'll address one question - American Fish and Sage have excellent craft cocktails. I particularly enjoy AF's happy hour food and beverage specials.

    5) was in town for last 2 grey cup every book had at least 1 tv showing the game and you could bet on the game pretty much everywere

    3) Seen Peepshow and fantasy twice each

Fantasy has a very funny guy doing stand up/cheaper tickets/lorena peril is a kick ass vocalist but theres no nudity from her

Peepshow is a much bigger show in a nicer theatre and with bigger production values, on the downside there are between headliners now( holly madison ended in oct and coco starts in dec) but Angel Porrino(from absinthe/hollies world) is a hottie for sure

Free meet and greet pictures/autographs are offered after both shows

Always use the North Entrance to catch a cab. It's significantly less busy than the main entrance. The Aria app (iPhone, assume its also available on Android) has a decent casino floor map.

    Enjoy your trip!

    I'll also add..

    1) Never use the tram. It's always waste of time.
    2) Walk through the street of dreams to get to the Monte Carlo.
    3) Walk through Vdara to get to the Bellagio.
    4) Cut through the mall to get to the Cosmopolitan.

Go downtown for coin in/coin outs. Cashier has rolls. You can stick bills in machine, just payout is paid in coin.

One more day to go and what happens? I get clobbered with a pretty severe cold. Oh well, this happened on my last solo trip to Vegas two years ago and I managed to have a good time despite (or because of) chugging back cold medicine and rum.

No point really, just wanted to bitch and moan.
