There are dirt cheep rooms available at Ballys Dec 3 thru 6th ($12). Ever stayed at Bally's? I already have my room at the Rio. Is it worth the switch?:drunk:

I will be in Vegas from Dec 3-6 and am booked across the street at Bills for $30/nite. What site is listing Bally's at $12? I might change.

I'd switch just for the location alone. I like to be on the strip. Ballys is in a great location. Rio is out in the boonies.

I stayed at Ballys and if you are looking for a great location on the strip you can't go wrong especially at that price!!

South Tower rooms are considerably more dated, however, they at least have a potential for great views of the fountains (not all have them of course). For that reason some people will only stay in ST rooms, even though North are more recently remodeled.

If you have an issue with your room, politely request a room change and I am sure you will be accomodated.

I see Nosh (snack bar at base of ST) is now open till like 1 a.m. every night. Some construction (minor) at that end as they are moving the poker room up to that area. I had a good meatball sub there the other day.

    Bally's

I'm booked for Bally's December 15th - 18th. Never stayed there but it's right in the thick of things. I have been comped Sat/Sun and $15 for Monday.

Is there coffee close by so I can get my caffeine fix first thing????

Can't lose with either. It probably depends on how much you want to be on the strip.

We had a coffee maker in our room in the North Tower, and the coffee was excellent. The coffee counter across from check-in also has juices and the best bear claws I have ever eaten, also good croissants. Wish I had one of their bear claws right now!!!!!

We stayed at Bally's last week and really enjoyed it. Booked a South Tower Classic room and was upgraded to North Tower at no extra charge (paid $154 on Sat -Veterans Day weekend; $15 on Sun, $30 on Mon).

Rooms seemed very clean, large and well furnished. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants but others in our party said Nosh was decent for a quick bite.

I'd rather play down the road a bit at Imperial Palace or next door at Paris., however.

I stayed at Bally's two weeks ago for the first time. Can't beat it for the price and location. I've stayed at Rio before and it is ok if you've been to Vegas enough times but I never really felt like I was in Vegas when I was there if that makes sense.

Since you (OP) have been to Vegas 19 times, you should know better than us if it is worth it to you. Personally, I only stay on strip - so Ballys at even $$ more would be my choice.

I just booked a stay at Bally's yesterday but am curious to check the rates today so I signed into TR but it won't show me any rates because it says I am booked already for that time period. Is there a work around to this?
