Last oct when we flew from Milwaukee to Vegas our plane didn't have wifi but we did have it on the way back.
For those of you who have been flying SWA have you noticed more wifi on planes? less? about the same?

Yes I know I can see if our plane is wifi enabled 24 hours before the flight.

Anxiously waiting 7pm tonight so I can look it up.

Our last trip in Oct from Milwaukee was the very first plane to have wifi and we've been flying SWA for 2+ years now from MKE.

Seems to be hit and miss. I fly Southwest semi-frequently and it seems like maybe 1 plane out of 10 is wifi.

To answer your question: "About the same." :)

I fly Reno to Vegas a couple times a month or so and every other month somewhere else in the country and for the past 6 months it's it's been about 50%... doesn't help you much for "planning" purposes, but there's a sticker very visable on the plane at the door area to denote Wi-Fi. It not the greatest though, as I've found I'm better off to download a movie or show as opposed to streaming it if I want uninterrupted service. I get a lot of work e-mails and it's kinda cool to be able to work them from the air.

On that flight last month the guys in front of us were streaming the Big Ten Network and watching the Badger game, so we kept peeking. When it worked it was fine, but lots of outages, sometimes minutes at a time.

Had a flight about a month ago where it said 24 hours prior that the plane would not have wifi, but it did.

We ran into th same outage problem from Midway to Las last month. It is a pain when you are trying to stream a Netflix movie.

What is the charge for wifi? Do they provide plugs or do you have to rely on your battery power (my btry is on it's last leg)? I've never hit a flight yet that's had wifi yet.

I went four for four on my trip last month. I only used it on the long legs though, as it's hardly worth it for a short flight by the time you wait to get to altitude and then how soon they shut it down on the descent. But it definitely helped pass the time on the 5 hour legs!

Yep... $5, unless you're an A-List "Preferred" tier than it's free. I fly enough to be at that tier, but most of my flights are under an hour, so I pretty much just use it for e-mail and the occasional Frazier episode off Netflix

They had originally projected having the entire fleet equipped by late 2010/early 2011. Well, that's come and gone. And gone. And gone.

I used it on my Boston to Denver flight.
    Was worth the 5 dollars.
Was not avalabe for the puddle jumper flight Denver to Vegas.
When I went home Vegas to Chicago and Chicago to Boston the wi fi was also avalable then.
    I did not utalize it.
Vegas to Chicago was a 6AM flight.
    Sleep instead.
