I'm in town for this concert - Nov 17, 2012.

I don't have tickets, and I am thinking of going.

anybody have luck in getting tickets before the show from either scalpers or people selling extras?

There are a few left on ticketmaster, but I don't want to buy one and then decide not to go.

I might just decide last minute....but wondering if anyone has had any luck doing that?

    thanks!

I've only been to one concert in the MGM Arena and I didn't notice
anyone out front selling tics...Security might keep them away and
you'd have to check further down the hall fron the entrance.

That said, if you find someone, there's no guarantee the tic will be
good...If you find something you like, have the person go with you
to the gate and let them confirm it's good with their scanner.
And as I'm sure you know....you could pay thru the nose AND end up
    with a poor seat.

I've had excellent luck checking the box office a few hours before the show. They release the "production holds" right up until showtime and they're often some of the best seats in the house.

Is scalping illegal in Nevada? It was here in MN up until about a year ago.

When I saw Roger Waters two years ago, the scalpers and MGM security where all out in full force playing cat-and-mouse with each other. And it was all unnecessary, I walked up to the main box office an hour before the show and had my choice of seats.

I have mixed feelings about this. 11/17 is my birthday and I would really like to see the Eagles, possibly my favorite group. I looked into Ticketmaster and they are starting at ~$150 each.

My problem is that I just can't take loud anymore. We went to about a dozen or so concerts at the Orleans arena and Showroom when we lived in Vegas and I needed to wear earplugs, because the volume just physically hurt me. Even Kenny G was too loud.

Jeez, I sound old, but only turning 60. Too many years working in TV and loud audio I guess.

Now I wear the noise reducing headsets when using my riding mower, but I guess the damage is done.

I went to Neil Diamond in the MGM arena over Labor Day. Sat in the second deck on the side...like section 214 I think. It was a great view, and I didn't find it to be too loud. It was kind of perfect. I think being on the side probably helped with the sound. I'm too old to be hanging out on the floor anymore.

I am 37 and am guessing I will be amongst the youngest there. I wouldn't think the sound would be too bad. I am going to Guns N Roses the next night. THAT will be loud.

I'm a concert junkie, and I wait till the day of for nearly every show I go to and almost always get good seats, usually first 10 rows. But the trick is you have to be diligent. Ticketmaster throws back good seats, but it isn't very many so keep your eye out if you have access to the internet. I did this last week for Carrie Underwood I got my seat at about 11am the day of the show, I was 8 rows from the stage on the first riser next to the stage. Also check the box office. Also broker tickets go drastically down in price the day of the show, sometimes under. I paid $6 to see the American Idol tour a few months ago ;)

Vegas is a little different because of the "High Roller" tickets, and such, but you shouldn't have an issue unless it's the most popular event EVER (something like Lady Gaga would probably be an issue)

To me, the lead singer makes a band. His guitarists sound like Slash n Izzy, and that is good enough for me.

Joe, The Eagles are my favorite group too. I went to see the show at MGM last year. It didn't seem too loud to me. I suggest you go if you can get tickets, you can get mad at me later if you have a problem. If you don't you can be mad at yourself.
