How is LV on Thanksgiving? I will be there for 2 days to bet football and play baccarat on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving Friday morning. Are the sportsbook packed? Are there people playing baccarat? Do I have to book reservations for fine dining? I will be staying at Aria, but usually wonder to other casinos.
Over all Thanksgiving is pretty darned quiet. Sports books become moderately busy in the afternoon, but not packed. Get your bets in the morning when it's empty. I would book your Thanksgiving dinner reservation if you're planning something nice. Buffet's are crazy. I spent one night at The Pub at Monte Carlo and it was very slow. There are some table action though. You should be able to find a Bac table with some action. One of the nice things about Thanksgiving day is no Porn Slappers. They must get the day off! I'll be heading out this year as my 50th birthday is that Wednesday. And my host gives me great offers for that week, assuming we leave on Friday!
As I noted elsewhere, Thanksgiving is one of the "lesser" Las Vegas holidays. Don't get me wrong, things ramp up in the evening and the prime spots do get booked up early. But, it's just not packed like most other holidays. I'll be there, just like I am every year. I already have a reservation at a nice sit-down restaurant (Oscar's at the Plaza) and recommend you make one now if you're set on getting into a particular place. Some restaurants are already booked full and I noted last night that premium seats (e.g., floor, VIP tickets) for the popular shows are selling out. Bill
was there for the last 2 years never had any problems getting a seat at sportbooks Lots of locals hit the buffet wait is at least 2 hours for the big thursday night dinner
coming out for first time with wife for her 40th...a surprise she is getting this weekend...flying in Friday morning and taking her to the RUSH concert at MGM Friday night...I am looking for pre or post concert parties...if not that... any recomendations...we are there till Monday
I was there for Thanksgiving last year. It was empty. The best part of the trip was hitting a parlay on Sunday. I was already at home. Paid for my December trip right before Christmas. Don't forget to bet Sunday's games! When you win, you don;t have to go back to collect, but it's always an option.
I wonder if things are changing in respect to crowdedness during Thanksgiving? Local so cal news said Las Vegas was #1 or #2 destination for so cal travelers.
