I went on the zip line last February. I was extremely drunk and was pretty scared of the thing. I ended up taking the ride and I had an absolute blast. I even purchased the photo. Nothing like hanging upside down on a rope over the freemont street crowds. I wish I had the photo, I lost it at the Rhino.

I think I read somewhere that another company or group is trying to take it over, but the article also said that it has been very successful. So hopefully that means it is not going anywhere anytime soon. I want to try it next spring or summer

It's running, and it's a blast! I also understand they are looking to extend it so it runs the length of the canopy. Hope that happens next year.

    Zip Line

Anyone try the Zipline downtown at the Freemont Street Experience? Also, does anyone know how much it costs? Thanks.

I did not personally do it, but I watched a buddy of mine and his girlfriend try it. I think it was about $20 a person, they waited about an hour, and it takes about 15 seconds. Basically, if you are into that sort of thing, you should do it. I think it is priced differently based on the time of day (i.e., cheaper during the day) as well.

Yes and I highly recommend it. It's a thrill ride and gives you a unique perspective of Fremont Street from up there. Plus, you get to be the show if only for a few seconds.

Rumor has it they're expanding it to cover one end of the Fremont Street Experience to the other (the length of the canopy, anyway). Not sure about the timetable for that but I hope it happens.

As for price, if I recall correctly, it's $15 during the day, $20 at night.

    Get the T Shirt, too!

My buddy did it Friday afternoon. It is cheaper during the day ($15) and there aren't huge lines (of course that might be different on a Saturday afternoon). He said it was fun and worth the 15 bucks.

I did it a week ago Sunday. I'm a 48 year old women.. and it scared the heck out of me. $20, and it was about a 45 minute wait. The scariest part for me was walking out on the scaffolding and climbing up on the ladder.. after that .. I just held on. I would recommend it.. but don't think I could convice myself to do it again. One of my friends is a dare devil and she layed out completely when she went.. total free spirit and loved it!
