I am currently Gold on TR and about 100 tier credits from hitting 4000 and becoming Platinum. I am wondering if the hotel reservations rates/discounts will be better once I make the jump?

I realize the offers I have now are based on past play, as well as which properties I've played at (or not played at). Right now I am totally comped on weekdays at Paris, but can't seem to land a room at Caesars Palace for any less than 159/night. I'd really like to stay at CP, even if it's in an old and decrepit room there, but won't pay that much when I can stay nearby for next to nothing.

Once I turn platinum, will the rates all shift down, or does it not work that way? I am just checking reservations through the TR website - not using any specific offers - including adding my wife's/companion's TR # as a secondary # which also seems to help my rates a bit, but she is a very light player.

Thoughts? Anyone know from experience? Thanks!

    We are just gold

But one thing we have noticed is that our comps for specific properties amp up if we spent a lot of time gaming in that particular casino. If you want to get Caesars comps, focus your play there.
    I didn't realize Platinum is at 4K--nice!

I was wondering the same thing and I just made platinum curious as so what the effect would be. As far i i can tell, none. I'm sure most people on this board will tell you the calendar rates are based strictly on your play and not on tier, which seems to be the case as far as I can tell. Playing dollar slots for a coupla hours got me comped basic rooms weekdays at most if not all properties. Additional play has led to nicer rooms with weekends. The only thing I noticed after hitting platinum is I got an offer for free nights as opposed to just special rates. Superfluous at my calendar level but I could imagine the offer would make sense to someone hitting platinum at a lower level of play.

I think a couple of years ago, an upgrade to platinum meant better rates automatically. Figuring out CET's rate calender now is a crapshoot.
My wife has been platinum for 4 years, while I've stayed gold, with about 3000 t.c's.
The last couple of years she could get any CET properties comped, including Caesars on weekends, while I was limited mainly to weekdays at most and weekends at IP.
When checking recently our room comps are now mostly identical, standard rooms on weekdays. When we combine cards in the system, we can get the upgraded rooms and most weekends comped.
Then I read some TR's ( recently one by sapphirevegas) and see other getting comped a week at Caesars with limo at gold!
Good luck trying to figure it out.

I've found that it depends on my most recent history. I'm diamond and have stayed at Paris for the last few years comped for 5 nites each trip. Last trip was in August and since Paris had removed my 2 fav slots, I played more aother CET had properties that had my machines (same bankroll and same $ ran thru). I'm now searching rates for March and I now can't get Paris comped. Very disappointing. It just shows that your tier level is not all they look at.

I used to be able to get multiple room types when playing at Caesars every trip. When I cut that out a couple of trips I have to pay for any type of room unless there is a special offer. I have played a small amount these last two trips but it hasn't helped my offers there.

So yes, they do give you combined overall rating, but the higher level props will require that you do play there some. If I am Diamond and have only played at IP and never set foot into Caesars I probably won't get a comp there. However if I am same level Diamond & earned it mostly at Caesars and PH, I will probably get free rooms at either. Both should definitely get free rooms at any of the others - Rio, IP, Ballys, harrahs, Flamingo, etc.

The room comps are also based on the time of year and how booked the hotel
is. I usually go between October and December when its cooler an less popular.
this time of year the comps are a little more generous.

My daughter an her girlfriend both at Gold and get Caesars comps. I showed them them how I play slots and they played for a short while at the level I play. My daughter is in the Augustus tower and her girlfriend is at the Palace tower comped for her wedding. They have never played at Caesars. My husband is almost diamond and can't get a room at Caesars for this trip. Most of his play is at Caesras and Rio. I am diamond at got the Octavius tower for the wedding. My husband and I have the same budget. We play side by side. I always earn more points than he does in the same amount of time. The difference is I hit the button faster. I was diamond when he became platinum. I think the amount of points you earn per hour of play might have something to do with how they figure who get the comps not your tier level.

Just advanced to Platinum about 8 weeks ago.
No change in room rates or comps, but as mentioned, the free rooms are more prevalent during the colder (slower) months.

I did get to fly past the long line at the cashier cage and at reservations in PHo though.

Shortly after receiving a congratulatory email for advancing to Platinum, I did receive a pretty substantial discount on a second room for my folks while we there this week. Not sure if the tier advancement had anything to do with it or not! But it sure helped!

For the 500th time, your offers are based on systemwide ADT, not tier level or which hotel you play at. Advancing a tier will not have any effect on offers.

Those who no longer see comps at the better CET properties are just showing CET a lower overall ADT than they once did.

Sorry to waste your time by forcing you to respond - I think the others here covered it in a slightly more polite way.

Then why are my options going down?
My wife is platinum, has been for several years. In the past, she achieved this in 2-3 trips at 4-5 days/stay. The last 2 years we were only able to go 1x/ year. Still maintained same tier and total TC's. So her theo should of doubled, not been reduced!

Not entirely true. There are days visited thresholds cause them make money on other things you do.

    WRONG!

Not 500th time, but the 1,894th time this year, your offers are tied to your ADT and not your tier level. Of course, other factors such as date, occupancy levels, etc come into play as well. There are also many "hidden" factors such as current marketing direction, corporate push or pull back, etc.

But, it is NOT tied to tier level.

Your play dictates what you get. The casinos know your play exactly and will adjust what they give you according to your action. They can give you free rooms and then take them away just as fast. A couple years ago you could milk their system but it seems they've locked down on the freeloaders.

I was once a freeloader abusing my comps a while back. When i lived in vegas, I had friends come to Vegas and wanted my free rooms. Me not caring, I gave them rooms all over town. I was Diamond and with my previous play before me stealing their rooms, I was getting all the rooms I wanted. I "stole" 60 nights over a three month span one summer. After that, I was cut off. I still had offers for free room on the harrahs website but once I tried to book, it said to contact casino marketing. I even had a couple people from management calling me and letting me know that i was being cut off.

A year late, I gave them some action and now I'm able to get SOME comps.
BTW, I totally deserve getting cut off. Was a learning experience, but through this I had to go to MGM resorts. It worked out fine since I prefer MGM hotels and restaurants.
